Solar Preparatory School For Girls At Bonham

Solar Prep continues to impress me at every opportunity. My daughter is in the Dual Language Pre-K program. It has been an incredible year already. Her teachers - Mrs. Reyna & Mrs. Arellano - are amazing. Mrs. Gonzalez and Mrs. Garza from the other Pre-K class are too.Volunteering with the school has given me an up close look at the school - curriculum, events, projects and field trips. All of which exceed my expectations. The teachers who welcome the carpool line, the office staff, administrators, music, sports, art instructors - every single person I’ve met and interacted with is kind and supportive.Parents whose daughters have been here for years all have great things to say as well. We’re super lucky and proud to be Solar Trailblazers!

Solar Prep is an amazing school! If every public school had the same model for education and students, our world would be better for it. We are so grateful to be a part of this community. Highly recommend Solar.

I'm just going to review the school anonymously real quick. This school is great for learning, the teachers are kind, for the reputation of the teacher I won't be going into detail, but I would like to comment on how bad some teachers are. I remember once that a teacher asked if I even knew what the talented and gifted class was, and proceeded to tell me i didn't belong there. The students are toxic, the teachers do nothing but punish the student who doesn't deserve it in my opinion in my experience. Alot of kids went in and came out rude, most children are bullied since kindergarten to however long they are there. Alot of toxicity from certain teachers *and* students. Other than that, this school is good for your children to learn, as they teach atleast average, if not above what the state requires. I do hope if anyone realizes they do not want to send their child here due to the bullying, the standards, the racism from students,, etc etc that they find a different school. Overall, I rate the school 6.5/10 from the 5 years I've been there.

My daughter is a founding Solar Scholar. She will be in the first graduating class! I love education she is getting. She is dyslexic which her first teacher spotted and got her put into dyslexia classes. She did so well she scores in the 94% in reading! She also has ADHD which was diagnosed last year, and the teachers and counselor made sure they did everything they could to help. The communication with me from her pod of teachers is always consistent and thoughtful. Is there drama? Of course, it’s a school full of girls. I will say the school goes above and beyond to teach emotional intelligence which makes a huge difference.

This school is truly unique! Emotional awareness is built into the curriculum. The girls are confident and eager to learn. We couldn’t be more pleased!
