Millsap Elementary School

We absolutely love Lamkin Elementary! From day one, we’ve been so impressed with how well the school communicates. We always know what’s going on and feel truly connected. The teachers are caring, patient, and genuinely invested in their students’ success. The staff overall is knowledgeable, professional, and always approachable, which makes such a difference. They also celebrate their students all the time!The administration is incredibly supportive, visible, and they genuinely care about both students and staff. You can feel the positive energy the moment you walk through the doors. They’re now a Capturing Kids’ Hearts Showcase School, too! Our kids absolutely love going to school every day!We feel so lucky to be part of a school community that values learning, kindness, communication, and teaching the whole child as much as this one does. As a parent of a former student at Matzke Elementary, I feel compelled to share our experience. During my daughter’s time at the school, she endured repeated instances of bullying that caused her distress. Despite bringing these concerns forward, I was disappointed by what felt like a lack of meaningful intervention or resolution from the teachers and staff. As a parent, it is deeply concerning about a child’s well being are not addressed with the urgency, empathy, and care they deserve. While I remain grateful for the genuine friendships my daughter’s amazing friends who provided her with much-needed support during a very difficult time I believe it is important for the school community to reflect on how student concerns are handled. Every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and protected in their learning environment.

This school released both my children off their campus to strangers! The principal nor the AP took any accountability for this incident. No meeting, email or apology was ever given to ensure this wouldn’t happen again. Instead they put a newly printed dismissal procedure in my children’s folder. Which this procedure was never followed. This wasn’t miscommunication. It was a breach of my children’s safety that should have never happened.

The staff is so judgmental they whisper instead of helping and attitudes are poor it makes parents feel uncomfortable I actually wanted to take my kids out of this school how I am treated when I go into the office

Wonderful school. They have high academic expectations and a wonderful warm environment.

We love this school. Our children look forward to coming to school every day. The teachers are caring and attentive to our kid's specific learning needs. We love that they are not confined to a classroom all day but enjoy that their teachers hold class or reading time outdoors on beautiful days. Not only that, the community here is the best. All families here agree that we want the best for our children.
