Posted by a parent on 11/15/2021Carroll has been through many changes over the past few years with the opening of a new high school in town. They lost a lot of students in the transition and boundary changes but Carroll staff is caring and the school spirit is awesome. Lots of pride, advanced classes and opportunities for extra-curricular activities.
Posted by a community member on 4/10/2019this school has its goods and bads. I came from a small school with 60 kids in my grade, then I jump to carroll with roughly 600 in my grade. The people aren't necessarily bad...its just for a quiet, reserved, rule abiding child, there sure are a lot of people who do drugs and scream cuss words across the room to each other and the teachers don't bat an eye. I though I got away from the small town drama- but instead, its just like it, except you get more people that turn against you. I once commented on a major drug addicts picture that she was too skinny...I got all kinds of backlash from my so called "friends" that always talked about how much they hate her and wish she would overdose. Not really nice...you would also think some of these kids may be more accepting of kids struggling with things like depression and eating disorders....no, talking about being pregnant in 7th grade is more normal than talking about recovery from anorexia. overall, if your kid has a good, easy time making friends and is not in AP classes and doesn't care about grades, Carroll is perfect. If your child actually wants a future and is mature, maybe pick a better school.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has been attending this school since Kindergarten and he is now in the 5th grade. We had a bit of a rough patch in the beginning, getting our son the assistance he needed, but it was sorted out quickly and we have loved our experience ever since. A few years back Mrs. Stevie-Rae Garcia was promoted from assistance principal to principal, and our family absolutely adores her. She is the backbone of Kostoryz Elementary and I am extremely thankful for all that she has done.Parent Review1mo ago - Sanders Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent, I would like to say I chose for my child to go to Sanders. My child has a lot of issues with adjusting to new environments. The administrators met with me as soon as I expressed fear over his adjustment and not only reassured me but also helped to create a plan for him to succeed. His teacher also met with me and gave me the best advice and she also worked with the counselor. The school gives you a sense of family. The office staff is very welcoming. My child has wonderful attendance, and I make sure I know all the policies as a parent that need to be followed. If I don't know the policies I do ask the front office what they are, and I follow them. The data clerk is very patient with me and has never ever minded if I ask her the same questions over and over and over again to make sure I have the procedures down so I follow them to a t (as far as attendance goes). The nurse has wonderful communication and is extremely precise in her work.Parent Review3y ago - Schanen Estates Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAfter several incidents ranging from threats, hitting, and now escalating to terrifying 2 classrooms as desks and chairs were hurled at students, the new child at fault is promptly returned to the classroom the next morning. Many of us afraid for our children's safety. We were never to this day contacted by the teacher. We had to take it upon ourselves to ask why, to request a classroom change which was immediately denied and shown the door with transfer to another campus as our only option. We live in front of this school and work hard to pay to be in it's boundaries. Our child is a straight A long term student they are proud to parade on social media but will not protect in real time. Many families were afraid and didn't send their children the next day. If you question the new principals tactics plan to be met with a very veiled response. The child at fault is being used to garner resources for the school. While our child who's never been in trouble a day in her life is now being used as a warning to other parents of what happens when you question this new leadership. We were shown the door basically and quietly and are now without a school for a very good student. Being forced into hiring an attorney to protect our child who did absolutely nothing wrong, has excellent scores but also become terrified of this violent child for good reasons. Her now education loss is because we asked for a classroom change the day after this incident that a hurled desk missed our student by inches, we had the audacity to ask why was this disruptive child was right back in class, and in just one day we were quietly shoved out. I will say the vice principal is fantastic- as well as several great teachers but they don't override this new principal and failed leadership. Sadly it will take an even worse event or a child being severely injured that they can't so readily hide or shove so easily under a rug to get any type of real time protection for students. Parents with real concerns will be hushed and students will have to go to school afraid. That's the new look for out TigersParent Review1y ago - Galvan Elementary School
