Read what parents are saying about Hyde Park Baptist Elementary SchoolUnruly student body allowed to bully. Students out of control and not sanctioned. More of a 'business' stereotype school than Baptist/Christ world view.
Posted by a parent on 5/2/2021Academically, HP is very solid, if limited, on what is offered. Culturally, girls are treated differently than boys. Girls are reprimanded for behavior that boys are allowed to do and are constantly being told to be submissive. Being submissive is a constant directive and there's been at least one homework sheet on how to be submissive. If you are raising a girl to be independent and stand up for herself and what she believes in, HP may not be the best environment.
Posted by a parent on 5/17/2017This is our first year at Hyde Park and my 10 year old son was very anxious about starting a new school. It only took a few days and he was in love with it! He loves the teachers and the kids are so nice to him. It's great that he can study the bible every day and ask any questions he wants to! We are so pleased with our transition and what the future holds for our son's education!
Posted by a community member on 12/6/2016The school has great caring teachers and an excellent administration. The principal, who arrived in 2009, is super. When we compared our daughter s academics with that of our friends children in public school, we found the difference to be significant. HPBS looked to be at least one grade level ahead. This was especially noticeable in K-2nd. The kids are sweet, courteous and respectful of adults, and the middle school students are great role models for the younger students. We couldn t be more pleased with the overall educational experience.

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have been at Bryker Woods for 3 years now and could not be happier with our decision to transfer in. A sweet, loving, supportive community where every child thrives. The smaller size of the student body enables teachers to focus on each child and for the children to feel that they belong to something special. Truly incredible and dedicated teachers that making learning fun, engaging, challenging and exciting. Love love love our school!Parent Review1mo ago - Maplewood Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageKirby Hall has been an excellent fit for our child. The staff and administrators are warm and caring and she is learning a great deal of new material every week. The class sizes are small (10 children), but the "social pool" is large as there are 2 classrooms for most grades. The building is unique and the classrooms are homey and comfortable. The teachers our child has worked with are intelligent, hard working and supportive. Her teachers will also take extra time to work with children who need additional support or show a particular interest. For example, her Spanish teacher meets with her after school to provide additional help, her drama teacher chats with her during advisory about Shakespeare or the class production and the STEM teacher opens up his lab during recess for kids to come build and work on projects. All of the educators help support children's interests and skills beyond the regular classroom time.Parent Review6mo ago
