Parent of a current student. Test scores and the district name are not the same thing as the day-to-day climate.Avoid HCMS unless you want a rigid, military-style campus. Students describe a jail-school feel. I did not take that seriously until I dealt with the office myself.Family engagement is poo
Posted by a parent on 9/18/2026I hated it here so bad bro the teachers were terrible i never felt like i was learning anything here and i was barely accepted by students or teachers.
Posted by a student on 4/15/2024My son went here for 7th and 8th grade. He was involved with Orchestra and really enjoyed it. I don’t know about the “bullies” as some of the other comments say, my son never had a problem. He was one of the shortest Hispanic kids in class and played Dungeons and Dragons after school at the school a

Posted by a student on 8/16/2022My daughter has done very well at this school. She has had some excellent teachers who have supported her throughout her time there. The one complaint I would have is the staff in the front. One in particular does not seem to like her job and seems put out by parents picking up kids or dropping off

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have loved this school! This principal and assistant principal have been very supportive of our children and their needs. They have helped work as a team with the teachers to make sure they are succeeding. The teachers have all been wonderful. When there has been issues or concerns they have been resolved quickly!Parent Review1y ago - Zilker Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe’ve had an amazing experience at Zilker. We love the community events, the Principal is very engaged and seems to care a lot, it’s a great, inviting environment and our student is excited to goto school everyday! The facilities could certainly be newer, but it doesn’t seem to be negatively impacting the experience.Parent Review11mo ago - Trinity Episcopal School Of Austin

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere is so much wrong with this school. If you are considering it and your kid is slightly unique, the students will treat your kid terribly and the teachers will ignore the consistent bullying, mostly because of the parents of the students are high donaters. My child has been miserable since coming here and dreads going to school. And my kid fits in well, but there is just so much drama and bullying. The heads of middle school do nothing about it. Not to mention, the dress code is sexist, as they will constantly dress code girls for their short skirts, but the boys will have their shorts so low their undergarments will be showing and no one cares. The students also are separated by gender, so don’t even think about sending your transgender or non binary kid here, the students are just so terrible! Please go to a different school!!Parent Review2mo ago
