Read what parents are saying about Speer Elementary SchoolBulling is a major problem at this school.teachers not caring enough to pay attention to students .
Posted by a parent on 3/21/2019The communication between the administration, teachers and parents is horrible. If you have a concern, you're not likely to receive any results unless you contact the superintendent. (My review is subject to change if I see improvement.)
Posted by a parent on 10/13/2017I THOUGHT THAT I WOULD LOVE THIS SCHOOL, BECAUSE IT WAS SO CLOSE TO HOME, BUT THIS LAST YEAR IT HAS BEEN AWFUL, THE TEACHERS LACK ALOT OF INSTRUCTURAL GUIDELINES AND SO THE PRINCIPAL, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYBODY TO BRING THIER CHILD HERE. ALWAYS ON FRIDAYS THIS ONE HISPANIC LADY IS SELLING FOOD INSIDE THE SCHOOL, I THOUGHT THIS WAS A SCHOOL. MY SON SAID HE LIKES THE SCHOOL, BUT DO NOT. I DONT GET TOLD ANYTHING, HARDLY ANY FLYERS SENT HOME.

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school in regards to the teachers and fellow students was so wonderful and we will miss that since we have had to transfer due to a move. The big issue with the school is the principal Mr. Mark Basham. This principal is simply someone that puts on a pretty face and phony attitude and when it comes to actual helpfulness for a parent or setting aside time to discuss an issue or offer advice he’s completely absent in mind and body. It’s sad that such a great school has this kind of leadership in place.Other Review10mo ago - Pope Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter began the summer program around 8 months. I was very nervous to have her out of my care but my nerves were eased very quickly. She NEVER cried at drop off or pick up. She reached for her teacher Ms. Heather every morning with a smile on her face. She always came home clean and full. I feel very blessed to have found such an amazing program. Ms. Hunt was so helpful with getting us in quickly despite the short notice we gave (spots close quickly). Our experience with this school was exceptional! I would definitely recommend this school if you want a safe and nurturing learning environment for your child.Parent Review1y ago - St Maria Goretti Catholic School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt’s such a shame that SMG claims to teach Catholic values. They don’t show any care or compassion towards students who are bullied, the teachers show clear favoritism in the classroom, and there are very few educators there who truly care about helping children grow. The majority of the teachers are impatient, lack an understanding of how children learn, blatantly ignore children who are asking for help, and frankly, many of them have no business being role models for kids. Save your money and send your kids elsewhere. Honestly, even if it were free I wouldn’t send my kids back.Parent Review2y ago
