Bryant Elementary School

We have had the best year here. All the teachers have taken the time to get to know my child and he is so happy to go to every day. The principal and the assistant principal have been so supportive and wonderful.

With two children enrolled, one of whom has dyslexia and had to do speech therapy as well, I can tell you that the time and effort spent on each individual student to help them succeed is superior at Fitzgerald. Teachers from pre-k to 6th grade are phenomenal, and the communication and support they give meets parents far more than just halfway. We couldn't recommend Fitzgerald more.

This school has really turned around. There was some stagnation during the COVID years and there has been some rough patches but the new principal has freshed up the place. New faces, new smiles, new STARR scores (up and up). Even some new events. I'm excited for these next few years.

Leadership at the school is nonexistent. They allow bullies to take away from learning for other students until parents have to complain. Support and instructional staff are lazy and don't want to deal with students.

Year 2025. Please take your child anywhere but West Elementary. The teachers engage in unfair grading practices and favoritism. For instance, they'll give your children grades on diagnostic tests . There is no uniform grading policy or best practices implemented. No accountability whatsoever. Teachers have high failure rates. There is no district initiative to solve this issue when it's lazy teachers submitting only 3-5 grades in the gradebook per term. God bless you if your child has any type of special needs because they will not be accommodated. The administration is lame at best and engages in willful indifference of students failing and bullying. They do nothing to curb and target thug-like behavior occurring that disrupts classes. The teachers won't communicate with you. When parents complain about issues mean spirited teachers which is very common; the administration will gaslight you and deny, deny, deny. There are nearby inner city schools with high populations of poverty and English Language Learners who are scoring higher than the kids at West Elementary due to the poor teaching practices. There are only two in class parties a year for the elementary kids. Most of the staff acts like they hate children. They tend to hire people with the same mentality yearly. Arlington ISD is going to the dogs. the board members do absolutely nothing but take pictures. Avoid Arlington ISD and particularly West like Covid 19. Our tax dollars are being wasted.
