Bowie High Schools PTECH program is outstanding! I can't say enough good things about the teacher support for my daughter. She has found a good friend group and that is harder than you think in 2026.
Posted by a parent on 8/24/2026Bowie High School is not a good school at all. And the more years put into it, it has gotten worse. There are almost 0 good teachers anymore. They've all been driven out by the terrible students and staff. I am a student here. So I know firsthand how bad it truly is. All the funding is gone to footb
Posted by a student on 11/3/2025My daughter is starting 9th grade. While other schools are happy to assist with registration and last minute questions, I can’t get anyone at the school to pick up the telephone. I can tell already that it’s going to be horrible reaching the admin and staff.
Posted by a parent on 8/10/2022I give 1 star.. I am extremely disappointed in this district for their failure the last 2 years. My child has been stuck in same grade going on yr 3 because they have a terrible staff. From the no communication at all with parents to the zero access to the parent portals that they admit was done in

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is in 1st grade and has been attending this school since Pre-K. We love her 1st grade teacher and feel she genuinely cares and makes such an effort to make it a fun and exciting environment for the kids. She has themes, special days and keeps us posted well via Class Dojo.My son is doing half days at Pre K3 level. He loves his teacher, and while a little unhappy at first, he really enjoys it and if I am lucky he will tell me about what he's learned. A school is really about the teachers, a great teacher makes a school great.Parent Review4mo ago - Bryant Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWith two children enrolled, one of whom has dyslexia and had to do speech therapy as well, I can tell you that the time and effort spent on each individual student to help them succeed is superior at Fitzgerald. Teachers from pre-k to 6th grade are phenomenal, and the communication and support they give meets parents far more than just halfway. We couldn't recommend Fitzgerald more.Parent Review2y ago - Starrett Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOverall the resources are great. The head staff on the other hand lack empathy and kindness. Also there are little to none when it comes to Free events to reward students everything comes with an unreasonable price. For kindergarten graduation they were selling $35 gift bags with a random bear, a cheap cup with a paper sticker that pealed off, a lot of unhealthy candy and a kids combo to canes. The only thing worth something in the bag was the gift card.. not only did they sell underwhelming bags they also sold off the graduation photos .. everything just seems to be about money but yet the teachers lack hygiene supplies for students and it’s rare that they take a fun field trip..Parent Review2mo ago - Bebensee Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has really turned around. There was some stagnation during the COVID years and there has been some rough patches but the new principal has freshed up the place. New faces, new smiles, new STARR scores (up and up). Even some new events. I'm excited for these next few years.Parent Review1y ago - West Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average10 years and four children into this school since 2016. From Prek3 all the way to 6th grade. I have seen teachers come and go under two different principals. Their communication is terrible, the teachers seem exhausted and unmotivated. The school spirit that once was has officially left the building. The school has gone down significantly and I am so disappointed.Parent Review4mo ago - Hale Elementary School
