Read what parents are saying about Westmeade Elementary SchoolI've had all three of my children attend Westmeade Elementary School. It offers a great learning environment while providing that wonderful sense of community that a small neighbordhood school provides.
Posted by a parent on 7/16/2023We love Westmeade!! We switched from private to public during covid and could not be more happy. Westmeade is such a sweet school with teachers who seem truly invested. The Principal is wonderful, my child's teachers have been so sweet, and even the office staff has been the absolute best. Don't hesitate to send your kids here.
Posted by a parent on 3/1/2023With the exception of our oldest attending Gower for Kindergarten, both of our children have attended Westmeade throughout their elementary years. Presently, our oldest is in his final year (4th grade) at Westmeade and our youngest is in 2nd grade. Our oldest is leaving to attend Head Magnate school next year thanks in large part to the efforts and assistance of the staff at Westmeade. We weighed carefully which schools our children would attend. Unfortunately, as I'm sure you've noticed, Tennessee is scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to national public school rankings. We understand the standardized tests these are based on are rarely as indicative as one would hope but the reality is that Tennessee has not placed the emphasis on education, specifically, early childhood development, we feel is prudent. Westmeade has proven to be a diamond in the rough in this regard. The majority of teachers we have worked with genuinely care about the children. It is obvious that all of the staff work together and each play a vital role in educating the children. On multiple occasions we have been engaged by teachers and/or administrative staff to support their efforts as we work collaboratively to more effectively educate our children. The majority of education occurs at home and school teachers, regardless of the school, will only be as effective as a child's home life prepares and equips them to be. The dedication many of the teachers at Westmeade bring to bear for the purpose of educating our children has been integral and invaluable to our children's early educational experience. Unfortunately, this is not the type of comments we consistently hear from parents at many of the other schools in our area.Through volunteering, visiting our children during the school day, attending after-school events and functions, and even simply talking to our children about how they perceive the school, it has remained obvious that the staff care deeply and are committed to providing a first-rate, well-rounded educational experience intended to prepare our children for advancement. If you are considering Westmeade, call the principal, Mr. Breese, or the Assistant Principal, Mr. Wicker, and ask them about their school. It will be evident that the environment they have created for educating the children is second to none.
Posted by a parent on 2/23/2017Both my children have gone through Westmeade. The teachers have been wonderful to work with. My children have been challenged appropriately, being put in accelerated programs when they need it. There's a strong sense of community. Mr. Breese is very engaged and involved with the children.
Posted by a parent on 9/5/2016After relocating to Nashville in Dec. of 2015 from San Antonio, where we home schooled our children, we decided to enroll them into public school for the first time in their lives. Westmeade was the first school we looked at and I'm glad it was. Principal Breese was incredibly welcoming and understanding of the challenges we were going to be facing as our children changed learning environments, the staff and teachers kept us well informed on the progress our children were making and I felt that their teachers (Ms. Moore and Mrs. Lemon) genuinely cared about the success of our kids, both academically and socially. The guidance counselor (Mr. V) was very helpful in working with our children and helping them adjust to the new environment. The staff and faculty of this school has really made an impact on me and my children, we love Westmeade.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a one of a kind school, one of a kind environment. The guides at this school care so deeply for their wild and their students, the aspect of community/family involvement is so important, the staff and board are constantly trying to support diversity and the whole child is truly nourished here. This school prepares children for the real world while honored their childhood and individuality. This is definitely an academic and competitive program. Some other reviews on here seem to give a horrible picture of an amazing place, and it's a shame such a special place is being so misrepresented.Other Review11mo ago - Nashville International Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family moved from out of state and enrolled at Saint Henry School during the middle of a school year, and our experience has been very positive! The community is the largest Catholic grade school in Nashville with three homerooms per grade. Saint Henry's offers small-group enrichment (grade school) and differentiated learning (middle school) for students working at an accelerated pace. A resource team, including a full-time counselor, is available for students who need additional support. Students at Saint Henry have homework every night and the teachers work together to ensure students are not overburdened. Work assigned is always meaningful; never "busy work." The teachers truly care about each student and his/her success, and the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecelia are a wonderful example of the Catholic faith in practice. The school recently renovated its science labs with state-of-the-art equipment and implemented a new curriculum with a focus on hands-on learning. Saint Henry School really shines in its fine arts offerings from the annual (Disney Junior) musical theater production to the fine arts classroom complete with a kiln! All students are exposed to music education through concert band, handbell choir, guitar, or voice. Of course, no review would be complete without commentary on the cafeteria, and my children rave about the offerings. Finally, because we were curious, most of Saint Henry's graduates continue on to Catholic high schools, namely St. Cecelia (all girls) and Father Ryan (co-ed).Parent Review2y ago - Harding Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family could not be happier with Harding Academy-- It has exceeded our hopes and expectations in every way! The school has rigorous academics, outstanding teachers and support staff, a lovely, thoughtfully designed campus and an exceptional culture of kindness and compassion. The arts and music program is remarkable! My child is thriving, both academically and socially. I attribute this to her teachers and to the community that the Harding Academy staff has cultivated. Parents and families of Harding students are very hands-on and involved in the community in meaningful ways, both in and outside the Harding walls. The school is teaching our children to be curious, thoughtful and engaged in the world around them. Before I became a parent, I was the director of a children's drama and music program. I was always impressed with the kids in my program who were Harding students. They were great artistically-- but even more so, they were kind, caring kids.We are thrilled to be at Harding!Parent Review5mo ago - Nashville Christian School
