Read what parents are saying about Sherwood Elementary Schoolthe stars are not a true rating of this school my child has attended this school and I hate the principal and some of the teachers their they are so unprofessional, rude, and dry to a lot of the parents that I have noticed and the optional programs are not what you would consider a optional program and not to mention the constant presence of law enforcement at a ELEMENTARY school so do not be fooled by this rating.
Posted by a parent on 4/19/2015Sherwood will never receive proper recognition because of the location, but it is an exceptional school. The staff is wonderful and the principals are extraordinary. They care deeply for the kids and are hands on with everything. The principals put forth every effort for the staff and students. They offer optional and the best resources for kids with learning delays such as autism, learning disabilities, and more. My daughter is autistic and every IEP we've had is challenging but wonderful. Everyone shows up and figure out what's best for your child. I would definitely recommend the school. Remember don't judge what you see because it's a true gem.
Posted by a parent on 3/13/2015I am well pleased with this school. My daughter who is now a 3rd grader gas been going here since KK, they are very orderly, respectful and serious about academics and time. I appreciate what my daughter is learning here as an optional student.!

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child is a kindergartner. To me, I honestly think this is the best school for children. I love the small classrooms -- no more than 12 kids are in his class I think. They really teach the kids. He came to the school this year not reading and now he can sound out just about any three letter word and spell it. One thing I can definitely say is this school is ADVANCED. My child has already started cursive writing and is up to ten spelling words a week. They have tests ( math, bible, spelling, reading, etc) They get real grades, not just happy face, sad face, good job, but real grades. I think if you are not going to take the time to reinforce what your child is doing and make sure they do the homework then this may not be the school for you. As I stated this school is tough and advanced in academics, but don't let that deter you or scare you because for some reason your child can learn. They are also strict when it comes to discipline. I am so glad I found this school especially since after care is included. Over the the phone explained my son's situation she made it sound like it's not a problem she emailed us the paper work and explained to us what we need to do. They also charge me $50.00 dollars to do an entrance test. It's sad after my son took the test she said they will call us back and give us the results. I received the phone call the following day just to be turned down and say they don't have any resources for my son and he didn't do well on his exam! My son was heart broken is this what's chatolic school do not give kids with disability a chance? They attend pe AND recess EVERY DAY! PDS offers many classes from amazing academics, to stellar sports, to band, and much much more!
