This is our third year at The Gordon School and we could not be happier! We moved to Rhode Island from out of state during the pandemic, with a rising 3rd grader who we were worried about transitioning to a new school and a new preschooler, and feel so incredibly lucky to have found Gordon during a period of such intense transition for our family. Our sons immediately connected with their classmates and teachers, and we all felt so comfortable from day one. The sense of community and belonging here is so special, and the focus on social-emotional learning and diversity, equity and inclusion makes Gordon a truly welcoming environment. The teachers and administration are exceedingly committed to making learning fun and exciting and meeting the students where they are.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have found FASRI here in Providence. It is truly a gem of a school that offers a unique and enriching experience for both students and families. One of the most remarkable aspects of FASRI is its diversity—teachers and families come from all over the world, creating a vibrant, multicultural environment. This global perspective is felt in every part of the school, offering students a truly international education.The academics at FASRI are rigorous and thoughtfully designed, nurturing intellectual curiosity in students from a young age. The school encourages children to think critically, ask questions, and explore global ideas deeply. We’ve been continuously impressed by how engaged and enthusiastic the students are about learning, and are so impressed that they can do so much in French and English.Beyond academics, FASRI offers a wide range of extracurricular activities and school trips domestically and abroad in France and Canada for the older kids, that are both fun and educational. Even the youngest students benefit from exceptional enrichment opportunities like swimming and ice skating during the winter.We are absolutely thrilled with our decision to join the FASRI community. It’s more than just a school—it’s an inspiring, supportive, and inclusive place where children thrive. We couldn’t be happier!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this school. As a public school educator for the last 17 years and a certified reading specialist, I was extremely particular about the school that my child would attend. I knew that I wanted a school that practiced the Montessori philosophy with fidelity as it aligns with everything I have learned as best practices in my years of Orton-Gillingham training and graduate education in literacy development. The teachers at Montessori Children's House have the level of knowledge and expertise that I aspire to, and they are masters at their craft in every sense of the word. As a parent, I have seen how my five-year-old--who had been a reluctant learner--has learned how to read words, sentences, and books and write in cursive. She has been completing addition and subtraction problems with four-digit numbers as well as multiplication equations. She has learned about continents, countries, and cultures, with regular presentations on specific holidays such as Diwali in India, St. Lucia's Day in Sweden, St. Nicholas Day in Denmark, the Lunar New Year in China, Purim, Holi, and the Bengali New Year delivered by class parents to name a few. My child has held a snake and eventually, the snake's babies, while also caring for guinea pigs and raising chicks and butterflies. She studies Spanish vocabulary, creative movement, sewing, weaving, and painting.While this school offers a phenomenal academic education, the lessons they offer in grace and courtesy, executive functioning skills like planning, organization, goal setting, sustained focus and attention, and self-management (tenets that are built into the Montessori approach) are invaluable. I know in my heart of hearts, as an educator, that this type of education could have impacted my own students' lives greatly, and it has been one of the greatest opportunities that I have been able to give to my child; I know that this school is setting her up for academic, social, and emotional success long-term. Perhaps my favorite aspect of this school, however, is the tight-knit community that we have here. My child has made friends with children who are kind, curious, imaginative, joyful, and from countries all around the world. The parents are equally kind, curious, and joyful, and we have enjoyed many school events at local parks conversing and nurturing our children together. Enrolling your child in this school is an investment in their future that is truly priceless.

I worked in early childhood at Lincoln and the teachers are not treated well. We work 12 months without any breaks and our boss (Kim Lough) does not listen to any feedback we have. We all love the kids and families, but it is exhausting to continue working somewhere we do not feel valued

My two children attended OSMS for a combined total of 13 years. We could not have been happier with our experience there. The teachers meet children where they are, provide extra support when needed, and foster a deep love of learning. The school tends to the whole student and teaches strong social-emotional skills along with the academics. The facilities are no frills, which helps to make the tuition affordable. It was a true privilege to be a part of the OSMS community, which so closely mirrored my own values. I will always be grateful for OSMS!
