Is a VERY GOOD SCHOOL! They have PRE-K (Early Intervention / K / Head-start or whatever you want to call it) for Parents interested in Early education for their Toddlers (2-4 year old) My Daughter is doing 9:35 AM to 12:20 PM. Wished I could get her in a Program from 9 AM to 3 PM like my nieces, but that was all they could offer. There are other places; like CCAP in Cranston that do offer 9-3 but most of then are lottery plus you have to be a resident.They also help your kid with speech delay if need be, plus other individual learning programs (ILP).I Like this school for my Kid, she started at age of 3. Will be attending PRE-K until shes 5 then continue in the same school for Elementary Education. I believe they do PRE-K to 5th Grade.

Middle school experience was great. Upper School suddenly turned for the worse. Basically, MB knows they have a huge social bullying problem with field hockey and lacrosse girls, but they do not do anything effective about it. Quaker values are just on paper. I simply wanted HUMAN values for my child. We had to leave. The toxicity of the girls’ behavior was no longer tolerable. The Upper School head tried, but they need to put a serious behavior plan in place to ensure this does not keep happening. I researched almost twenty years of MB reviews and this issue pervades them all. Do your research before going to MB.

It’s a great choice if you live in Providence and don’t get into classical. Otherwise, I’m not really sure if it’s worth the money. We live in Providence, and had one kid graduate from wheeler, and our other kid got into classical and will is at Yale now. The kid (they are twins) who went to wheeler is at a state university and we are having to pay a lot.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this school. As a public school educator for the last 17 years and a certified reading specialist, I was extremely particular about the school that my child would attend. I knew that I wanted a school that practiced the Montessori philosophy with fidelity as it aligns with everything I have learned as best practices in my years of Orton-Gillingham training and graduate education in literacy development. The teachers at Montessori Children's House have the level of knowledge and expertise that I aspire to, and they are masters at their craft in every sense of the word. As a parent, I have seen how my five-year-old--who had been a reluctant learner--has learned how to read words, sentences, and books and write in cursive. She has been completing addition and subtraction problems with four-digit numbers as well as multiplication equations. She has learned about continents, countries, and cultures, with regular presentations on specific holidays such as Diwali in India, St. Lucia's Day in Sweden, St. Nicholas Day in Denmark, the Lunar New Year in China, Purim, Holi, and the Bengali New Year delivered by class parents to name a few. My child has held a snake and eventually, the snake's babies, while also caring for guinea pigs and raising chicks and butterflies. She studies Spanish vocabulary, creative movement, sewing, weaving, and painting.While this school offers a phenomenal academic education, the lessons they offer in grace and courtesy, executive functioning skills like planning, organization, goal setting, sustained focus and attention, and self-management (tenets that are built into the Montessori approach) are invaluable. I know in my heart of hearts, as an educator, that this type of education could have impacted my own students' lives greatly, and it has been one of the greatest opportunities that I have been able to give to my child; I know that this school is setting her up for academic, social, and emotional success long-term. Perhaps my favorite aspect of this school, however, is the tight-knit community that we have here. My child has made friends with children who are kind, curious, imaginative, joyful, and from countries all around the world. The parents are equally kind, curious, and joyful, and we have enjoyed many school events at local parks conversing and nurturing our children together. Enrolling your child in this school is an investment in their future that is truly priceless.

My two children attended OSMS for a combined total of 13 years. We could not have been happier with our experience there. The teachers meet children where they are, provide extra support when needed, and foster a deep love of learning. The school tends to the whole student and teaches strong social-emotional skills along with the academics. The facilities are no frills, which helps to make the tuition affordable. It was a true privilege to be a part of the OSMS community, which so closely mirrored my own values. I will always be grateful for OSMS!
