3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child went to this school for years K-3. While Kindergarten was a great year, the subsequent three years were awful. My child had a new teacher for 1-3 (brand new to the school or fresh out of college). None of these teachers could maintain control of the classroom and was complete chaos from the very beginning (one teacher cried daily for the first month). Despite parent’s calls to leadership to support the teachers, it fell on deaf ears. From 2022-2025, they’ve had 3 principals and a handful of vice principals. They don’t have a PTA, they don’t sell yearbooks, there’s not much of an incentive to participate in the one crappy fundraiser they do once per year. The gifted and talented program is a joke and there were several times they didn’t even show up. I had to supplement A LOT at home. To the point that we didn’t have time for any extracurriculars. One time my child was placed between two children that were arguing with each other in STEM class to try and discourage them from fighting. One kid decided to punch the other little boy and my child (a girl) was caught in the crossfire and clocked in the jaw. The boy was never made to apologize, was not suspended, no discipline whatsoever. I won’t even get into the incident where my child’s arm was broken on the playground at recess. Parents need to stay on top of the teachers, leadership and school board if you want anything positive out of this school. In our experience, it was a nightmare.Parent Review9mo ago19 Reviews - Townsend Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is ran like a military school/prison all the kids even in the younger grades are treated like they are supposed to act like robots. They have a no talking in hallways policy that is just annoying. To think that a kid that is 5-8 years old full of life can be quite stand straight in line face the front while waiting for the cafeteria is obnoxious and they get in trouble for it if they don’t. I got a message from my kids teacher one day because my kid got in trouble for being loud coming in to the school seconds right after recess. I thought to myself it’s not a big deal they are just still spun up from being outside playing but to them it was not tolerated. On another occasion I went to check out my kid and in the office there was lil boy in a corner that I suppose was in trouble he was reading a book, but because he was reading it out loud he got in trouble by the front office staff! “ Shush you’re supposed to sit there and be quiet!” Is what was said to him I was surprise to see that the boy that looked to be around 6 got in trouble for reading out loud to himself weird thing to get in trouble for especially by staff not teachers. After moving districts my kid loves going to school now and has less anxiety. Can’t wait to get to school every morning! I have an older kid who spent 5th and 6th grade there and concurs that this elementary school is very uptight and ran like a military school. The majority of the teachers have bad attitudes and no patience when it comes to kid’s being just kids. Especially the younger grades kindergarten thru 2nd. Please for your kids mental health do not move in this district and take your young ones here! If I could give no stars I would have. I could go on and on about these petty examples that my kids have gotten in trouble for and of what my older kid has told me as well, but the last example I will give is one instance my kid was not given a treat for not having their head down and was forced to sit there and WATCH the other kids in the class eat theirs! Please for your child’s mental health do not go to this school!Parent Review1y ago4 Reviews - Sooner Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNever been to a school that releases car riders and bus riders before walkers. Also I have never been told I had to wait off campus to pick up my child. They expect the parents to do the teaching not the teachers.Parent Review9mo ago16 Reviews - Bodine Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy children have been attending Bodine since Pre-k and i would not switch schools for ANY reason. The principal Mrs. Coshow is so loving and cares for the children. She is so dedicated to their education and the well being of her students. I love this school. My kids love their teachers. My son and daughter have grown in their reading in math scored by 20 points from the beginning to the middle of the year. I cannot wait until the next test to see how much they have grown.Parent Review2mo ago15 Reviews - Santa Fe South Hills Elementary School
