Read what parents are saying about Linwood Elementary SchoolLinwood is a wonderful place. We've been so pleased. I'm gladly sending my two children there. Someday, 3! Right in the midst of the city, you can step onto the campus of this school and feel like it is it's own little community.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have been very satisfied with this school for many years now (this will be my child third year there) and would rate it five stars but, not this year. The previous principle Mr. Randy Brewer ran an excellent school, and allowed the parents to be very involved with the school. However he retired and now there is a new principle (Melinda Elms). By the end of the second week of school she has personally insulted me by assuming I must be a single mother with custody issues, because I enjoy walking my child to class as I have always done. What she asked me about thou none of it being the case is absolutely rude, and if any of it was true it would absolutely be none of her business. The school preaches about how important parent involvement is and building strong relationships with the parents. But they are literally pushing us out the door. I'm not allowed to go into the school at all which upsets me not only has it now broken my tradition with my child, ( As I went to this school also , and we live about five houses up from the school and my mother did the same with me) it seems so wrong that if my minor child is in the care of these people during the day not only should I be allowed in these premises but I should be welcomed . This really doesn't make me want to be involved with the school at all. As they want us to be" involved" but obviously their actions send an entirely different message. I would like to know their reasoning for how a mother walking their child to school and their classroom affects the child or any other child's education.Parent Review7y ago - Kaiser Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAwful. They cannot keep teachers, new unqualified people every year attempting to teach. This year two teachers have quit outright. One teacher consistently cursed in class. Right now my 6th grader is staying in a 4th grade class because there is no 6th grade teacher. Daily work for my 6th grader now is write a 5 paragraph essay and then play on a computer for remainder of the day. Oklahoma city schools are pathetic.Parent Review6y ago - Mark Twain Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is terrible. From the minute you walk in the door the secretary is rude, loud, and confrontational. Most of the teachers are tired, bitter, and angry. Non teaching staff is just as awful. Test scores are terrible every year. No surprise that this school received an "F" rating from the state.Other Review6y ago - Cleveland Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy middle child and my oldest went to their first in-person school day here today..And my middle child it was her first day of school in general...And some other boy and girl pushed her said they didn't like her hair( which my children are mixed) on the playground..And I haven't gotten the whole story straight but a student I her class stole all of her school supplies out of her back pack while it was on the back of her chair.Um I will be calling the teacher Monday and get to the bottom of this bc my daughter was so excited and on her very first day of school kids stole from her , hurt her , made fun of her hair...That is NOT OKAYParent Review2y ago - Windsor Hills Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI wish transferring here out of state we would have known how horrible this school was and picked a whole entire different district and neighborhood to live in. I am absolutely disappointed with the educational level that my children are acquiring, they deserve to be taught by higher level educated teachers and those that actually want to be there at their job. Including staff that wants to be there and making sure that the teachers have the adequate supplies would be fantastic. But I feel that those who are slightly different in any sort of way or those that need a little extra assistance or those who are smarter than the rest of the kids in their class are completely ignored and they are Left Behind.Parent Review5y ago
