Jenks High School

Maybe we got unlucky, but communication with my child’s 3rd and 4th grade teachers were non-existent for both of my children who were in different buildings. No weekly newsletters, no updated grades on PowerSchool or Canvas. I never received graded work, very disappointed with the lack of regular communication. Maybe it’s because the class sizes are so big and lack of special education support that teachers are overwhelmed. Intermediate does a much better job at communication.

My son had a wonderful experience at Jenks Southeast in the Mandarin Immersion program! Great kids and teachers, and the principal is very involved. I often see her greeting kids by name in the hallway every morning. We ended up moving out of the school boundaries, and I regret it! Really miss this school.

The upper elementary school front office lady is the primary reason I’m looking at taking my tax dollars elsewhere. She is as insufferable as the policy she thinks is so important. I walked my kindergarten girl to class just fine without wasting time on a tag because clearly if you have a little girl with you and are dressed in work clothes you aren’t looking to meander around the halls.

FABULOUS PROGRAM! My son loves his teacher as well as the director, Amanda. He was behind coming from another school but they really put all their efforts into catch him up to grade level. He is now above grade level and we have seen massive improvement. The teachers communicate everything to the parents very well and we are never left in the dark. The field trips are fun and educational along with the fun projects such as Share Fair. Mizel is such a state of the art facility that has all of the right safety features including a Tulsa Police Officer in the front of the building during school hours. We can’t recommend this school enough!
