I had heard a lot of negativity surrounding Middletown City Schools. I had some serious concerns about letting my son attend school here. Elementary school went really well, but I had a lot of reservations around Middle School. My son made so many friends he asked to stay in the district. I allowed
Posted by a parent on 10/2/2026You will get yelled at by staff most your work will end up missing wither you did it or not the staff will hide in the bathrooms dressed as STUDENTS this is the worst place to ever send your kid but please do if you want a horrible experience btw your not going to be able to graduate from here
Posted by a community member on 5/16/2025While the teachers are generally supportive and respectful, the students hold the school back. Many are very unintelligent and lack impulse control, making it harder for advanced students to excel, as the pace of learning is often held back by those who do not engage or disrupt the class. The school
Posted by a student on 3/28/2025Middletown Schools have really come a long way in the last 10 years. I see a drastic improvement from when my youngest went there, to now my oldest. Things are improving but it takes time. Keep up the good work!
Posted by a parent on 12/8/2016I had a few awesome teachers, but most were cynical and didn't really care whether we were educated or not. I took AP classes, and advanced courses, and never passed an AP exam. Some teachers didn't expect enough, so students didn't care to try. I had a great experience in high school, because of my

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had two children in this school; both since 3 year old pre-school. I can tell you, without a doubt, it is an amazing school and the staff and especially the principal are truly dedicated to the students. There are always bad-apples in every group - bad students, bad teachers, etc. But one bad apple does not spoil the whole bunch, and the school has very diplomatically removed many of these bad actors over the last decade my kids have been there. Every decision the school makes, popular or unpopular, is for the long-term greater good of it's students.Parent Review5y ago
