Mayfield Elementary School

If you have a child with disabilities of any type. I would highly recommend you not enroll them at this school. They go in defense mode anytime you ask a questions.. your child will be treated like a burden. That was my family’s experience. I only gave them 1 star because I didn’t get the option for 0. They don’t believe in transparency. My son is in 5th grade and is at a 2nd grade level in reading and Math. I asked for support from his school. I find that most of the teachers either have no training with autistic or anything under the umbrella. Even the littlest request was immediately shut down. Like an aid a classmate. They blue you on everything.

All my kids attend Rosa Parks and they are amazing the teachers keep in contact with me everyday on my childrens progress Mr comer sits in each class and observes everyday if more schools were like this one it would really make a difference

I have had two children in this school; both since 3 year old pre-school. I can tell you, without a doubt, it is an amazing school and the staff and especially the principal are truly dedicated to the students. There are always bad-apples in every group - bad students, bad teachers, etc. But one bad apple does not spoil the whole bunch, and the school has very diplomatically removed many of these bad actors over the last decade my kids have been there. Every decision the school makes, popular or unpopular, is for the long-term greater good of it's students.
