Gordon Dewitt Elementary School

Expects kids to be robots. Gets visibily angry at a 4 year old for talking during nap time. Unrealistic expectations for developmental capabilities. Snobby and rude. Disrespectful. Lack of understanding of what covid 19 pandemic did to young babies and kids. Makes kids cry. Lack of working respectfully with a 3 and 4 year old who is new to school and child care out of the home. States will work with them then does not.

Chapel Hill has lacked over the past few years. There new administration fails to see opportunities for process improvement and adaption; just seems to be the old Chapel Hill way. Teachers are valued compared to administrative support; administrative support is supposed to care for all other staff. There is inappropriate work life balance for staff as expected to do additional duties without providing adequate time off. The board along with the administrator seem to be out of touch with what the school needs; the Board suggested that the current administrator was hired based on race compared to appropriate hiring qualifications. Administrator and principals fought using Ohio public testing because it was a Christian school. Also, administrator refused to include students who did not meet according to Christian guidelines. After observing students and administrative staff, I would not suggest Chapel Hill as the appropriate environment for either parents, students, and/or staff members.

Sadly the school has gone down hill since the new principal (Bibiana Seislove) started. After just one year with her, we pulled both of our kids out. We feel she has failed in her leadership of the faculty, students and staff. Otherwise, the staff and families are amazing. Hopefully something is done about the failing leadership before all of the good families are gone.
