Fairwood Alternative Elementary School

Cassingham is an exceptional school, academically and on every other dimension! Our family has moved multiple times and has been to multiple schools over the years for our kids, and Cassingham is far and away the best one. The teachers are phenomenal and it is amazing community. I have talked with other parents and nearby schools and they are surprised at the resources we have. We had to move for a year and my kids can't wait to get back to Bexley and their school. They miss the gym teacher (sadly, retiring after 20+ beloved years!), the art teacher, the music teacher, etc. The fact that this school gets 5/10 on GreatSchools.org only proves that GreatSchools.org has no idea what they are doing. I have zero faith in their methodology.

This school is ok the Principal popped up at my house a couple of times with out asking me and the school nurse Jenny has told other kids parents about my kids personal health conditions with out asking. Which I thought there was privacy laws. I think they should watch the kids more with the bullying on recess.But it's a ok school

I do not recommend Mansion Day School due to a severe and unacceptable safety failure involving my 5-year-old daughter.On February 5, 2025, my child was sent unattended to the bathroom. During that time, she was able to exit through a side door, became locked out of the building, and left the school grounds entirely. My five-year-old daughter was later found alone on a main road after crossing two busy streets—completely unsupervised.What makes this even more disturbing is that the school initially minimized what actually occurred. I did not learn the full extent of the situation—including how far my child had traveled and the level of danger she was in—until I later obtained a recording of the actual 911 call. No parent should have to rely on emergency call recordings to uncover the truth about what happened to their child while at school.The school’s response afterward has been equally troubling. Despite multiple attempts to obtain answers, including outreach and certified mail, I have been denied transparency regarding the internal investigation and how staff were held accountable. The issue has effectively been swept under the rug.There are additional safety concerns within the facility, which only heightens the seriousness of this incident. While the school may offer a good education, no academic program is worth compromising a child’s safety or mental well-being.Parents deserve honesty, accountability, and assurance that their children are protected. Based on my experience, this school failed to provide all three.

This school is far from what they advertise online. I went into this school hopeful that things for me would change, that I would make new friends, and experience new things. This school isn't a school at all. It's a program that shoves God down your throat, doesn't take your needs seriously, and most of all hurt me and my relationship with my family. If you are considering sending your child here, consider how you can change yourself and the dynamic of your home first. What can you be doing to be there for your child? consider what your child's experiences and needs are in life. This place is a cop out that will not work. It will just drive your children away.
