My daughter has attended St. Helena Elementary school since PK3. She is now entering 7th grade. I couldn’t be happier with the school, staff and my daughter’s achievements. The classes are only one per grade which is helpful. I love the intimacy of the classes as this helps with concentration and in
Posted by a parent on 8/24/2024Last year my family and I were impacted by school closures. While we were devastated by the news, we knew we had to be proactive in finding the right school. For us that meant a school that placed high value on academics and enrichment activities. Additionally, it meant a school that felt like an ex
Posted by a parent on 8/23/2024My child just finished 6th grade and I agree with the review below. Unfortunately my child’s school closed down last year, so we had to find another school for him to attend. We visited a few schools but after seeing the beautiful seventh grade classroom (which is also the math class) on a tour, my
Posted by a parent on 8/16/2024This is a hard review to write because the school has A LOT of bad but also some good. The administrator doesn't seem to be in charge and the real boss seems to be a tyrant teacher. Most of the teachers look dull, bored, and not interested in their jobs at all. The students see this so they are not
Posted by a community member on 6/12/2023My daughter has been attending St Helena since she is 3 years old and will be graduating in 2018. Like all things in life nothing is perfect. There is room for improvement in all things. With that being said ....Our experience as a family over the last 10 years been wonderful!!! We have had positive

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAlumni here. You’d be wise to check other schools before settling for this one. You’ll likely get a warm welcome entering this school. If there’s anything this school loves and excels at, it’s keeping an appearance, but behind appearance, a lot of these teachers are very comfortable disrespecting kids. Power trips from the teachers were very common throughout my time in this school. None of this is a secret either. The principal and vice principals are very aware of how loud these teachers could get and, on rare occasions, even join in.So if you think about going to a VP/principal with complaints about a teacher, the teacher will almost always take precedence over the student. Depending on how close they are, your words could be easily disregarded while the teachers are protected and students are silenced. Of course not every teacher feels the need to “discipline” students through verbal abuse. Some of them really are good people who build healthy relationships with their students, but it’s rare. Best of luck to the future students and everyone who left this place.Other Review1mo ago - Santa Maria School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is horrible . They tell you your child can not bring lunch from home. Remind you some kids are picky. My son is 3 years old and they didn’t allow him to eat anything all day. They have the janitor outside smoking cigarettes. Please don’t waste your time sending your kid here it’s really unsafe. They even smashed my son finger inside of the door and no one could of told me what happen it was 3 different storiesParent Review3y ago - P.S. 536

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI loved this school when my child attended this school he was going through a transition from ICT to Special education and the school went out of their way to make my child feel comfortable. The teachers worked with him even through all of my child excuses. If there was a problem the parent coordinator would not hesitate to reach out. The parent coordinator treated every child as if they were her own and made you feel comfortable to leave your child at the school. The school also offered parents so many workshops and opportunities to be involved in their child's educational journey.Parent Review1y ago - Archer Elementary School
