St Rita School

I was a student at Petrides for a LONG time. I was constantly bullied and shoved around. I was getting death threats from kids in 9th and 10th grade when i was in middle school. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME I went to a dean or admin or the principal, They always turned their back towards me and didn't do ANYTHING to the students who were bullying me. They didn't talk to the kids or their parents, they didn't suspend them, they did NOTHING!!! I wish I could have said I had a good run at petrides but I didn't. This school sucks and so do the faculty members. My mental health crashed and I went into a year long depression state and much more. Thank God i left that school and met new friends and actual staff members who care about their students and do something when bullied is happening plus my mental health is back up and I'm fine. All the memories I have about petrides are nothing but hell and nightmares. I DO NOT recommend this school to anyone

I was a previous student at this school, terrible. Teachers Can and WILL humiliate you every time they can to literally everyone. No fun activities, and if there is, a lot of students are always excluded from said activities. Counselors share whatever you say to them to literally everyone they can, Never helps with bullying, and Family engagement? Nope, that never happened. Gives Summer vacation homework in the form of BOOKS. You read that correctly. BOOKS. Huge books. One star.

If you're looking for a school that blends strong academics with a big hearts ,looks no further. We're so grateful to be part of the P.S.54 family.Special shout out to the principal.

This has been the worst experience at this school. The front office is rude, nasty and they all hav attitude problems. Comments under their breath, the teacher my son had in pre k also very nasty and seemed to not like my son and made any excuse for me to come pick him up. I have 3 other children and this is the worst school I have ever put my kid in.

As an alum of Staten Island Academy, I can confidently say it’s more than just a school, it’s a family that supports you every step of the way. The close-knit community, passionate teachers, and personalized attention helped me grow not only academically but as a person. It’s a place that truly invests in your full potential, preparing you for both college and life beyond.

Words can’t express how wonderful this school is, how wonderful the environment is and how happy everyone is. As a parent, you always worry about trying to figure out what is a good school to send your child to where they will be able to grow independently but also be supported in their education. The class sizes are small and the teachers are very focused and caring to make sure every child gets the best education they can and no one falls behind. I’ve seen my child grow, flourish and continue to grow into a brilliant, bright, and caring kid . The teachers and staff at St. Johns are a huge part why my son is doing so great. I am beyond grateful for them and my kid tells me he loves school.
