Read what parents are saying about Is 192 The LindenAwful school, teachers only care about getting their benefits and salary.
Posted by a parent on 9/26/2021I would rate it a 10 because when I have recently transferred it has been nothing but a great learning experience. I've got to meat more people and actually learn the correct curriculum , in which i didn't learn in my old school P.S/I.S 270
Posted by a student on 1/26/2020When my child went to this school he was cursed out by a teacher was getting hit by a teacher, the one teacher threatened to beat his a** the teacher also made very rude comments to him such as, saying he acted like a girl, I wouldn’t recommend to think twice about putting your child in this school
Posted by a parent on 3/25/2019My child just graduated from IS 192. IS 192 has great teachers that care about each every child. My son wasn't interested in school until he attended IS 192. I appreciate the time and effort that was put into my child's education.
Posted by a community member on 11/14/2016When I was applying to this school, I was told about all these programs like a debate team, a bible club and a track team, but when I entered to school none of that was given to me. The teachers dont seem like they care about the students, there is no discipline, and some of the classes are just straight up lies. There are probably only about 5 or 6 teachers who came there to teach. I was told so many lies I cant even explain them all right now. The trips are overpriced and the school is cheap. I do not feel safe in this environment, because of all the gang related violence, and the possession of drugs and alcohol. If you are thinking of sending you child here, please think twice because I dont want anybody to go through the same thing I went through

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is one of the worst school i am aware of. Unfortunately the teacher of this school are very discouraging and never respond to parent. This school is 3/10 for a reason but i think they do not deserve even 3/10.Parent Review1mo ago - Ps 134 Hollis

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI graduated from PS 134 in 1951. I attended for the entire elementary period along with many others who lived in the area at that time. We loved and respected our teachers and each other. Most of us went on through high school and college and productive careers. I graduated from Brooklyn Tech then Hofstra college, did a career in the US Army then and additional career with a major midwest university. In May this year I will reunion with 3 old pals of that era. We have been in contact since that time and frequently talk about our PS 134 experience. I attribute my success in life to my teachers and especially to our principal, Marie Fowler Rielly! (sp)Other Review4y ago - Ps 136 Roy Wilkins

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJust moved in the neighborhood and was looking for school close to home . I saw PS 136 and despite the bad reviews I still enrolled my family members . Disappointed and angry is an understatement with one of the kindergarten teacher along with the 3rd grade teacher not forgetting the principal. They do not take responsibility for their actions when they messed up . The principal C.Q have no etiquette for a leader and it is very disappointing. Her along with her fellow teachers do not know how to be professional and I hope it change sometime soon. It is only because of transportation or else I would have choose to withdraw my family member from this school. I hope the DOE looks into them and their unethical behavior!Other Review4mo ago - Ps Ms 147 Ronald Mcnair

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would give this school 0 stars if I could. I heard so many great things about Montessori Schools and was excited when we got the acceptance letter. The school began calling me in July to fill out paperwork. I brought in the documentation they needed. I even went in with copies for them to keep. One of ladies at the front desk told me that she needed to make copies herself so I let her do so. I spoke with the director afterwards to ask her a question and she seemed very lost and didn't have any answers. The next two weeks I kept getting phone calls from them congratulating me again for our acceptance and that I needed to fill out an application for my 2 children. I became annoyed because I had already filed out the paperwork and handed everything in. As this school year was approaching, I get another call from them stating that they didn't receive a copy of my child's birth certificate (when I watched the lady make copies of all of my documentation weeks before). They misplaced my child's birth certificate! Clearly I was upset and I stated to them, "how am I supposed to trust you when you are misplacing important information? They lady on the phone got an attitude with me for being upset. It was actually that same exact woman who was on the phone with me who made copies of my child's birth certificate and lost it. She did NOT apologize for HER mistake instead she continued on to give me attitude over the phone. I then decided that I did not want to do this back and forth with them so I let my husband handle everything. He has made multiple trips to the school and all of a sudden they're missing MORE documents from us. He's gone back with whatever missing documents they needed and every time he went in he asked them if they have everything they needed? They said multiple times that they would call him to let him know and not once have they called back. He had to drive up there many times to check in to see if they had everything they needed from us. They told us that we needed to have our pediatrician state any dietary restrictions we have (which we had her do) so that they can have the chef send in an alternative meal for them once school started. On the first day of school, my husband drops them off, they tell him "we can't accommodate their diet (vegetarian) so you should've sent them in with lunch". Not once did they call to tell us that BEFORE school started. My kids were so hungry when they got home and I was so upset we ended up pulling them out.Parent Review2y ago - Ss Joachim & Anne School
