I.S. 119 the Glendale

In my experience, this school not provides an environment safe from violence, discrimination, and harsh punishment. And Principal don’t do anything to figure-out of situations.Not welcoming parents to come and talk, not happy to see parents at school, when they are coming to talk,figure out. the principal may believe one student , but not another , and blame him

Mr. Filippi is the best person to be principal. He is a person who is dedicated, trustworthy and an amazing person. Going back to when he taught, his dedication was always amazing. I pray for his continued success and must say folks at 91 are lucky to have a person like him heading the school. Thank you Mr. Filippi for your dedication, devotion, and charisma. You are god sent!

The second-grade teacher in classroom 203 often raises her voice and frightens the students, frequently yelling at them with or without cause. It was a difficult experience. I hope the students in the current school year are assigned a different teacher.

Strongly Disappointed — Would Not RecommendI would not recommend this school based on my experience with how they handled a very serious and personal matter involving my family.What I found particularly concerning was the school’s decision to intervene and communicate regarding my circumstances without first obtaining my permission or giving me the opportunity to address the matter myself. In my opinion, that was an inappropriate breach of privacy and demonstrated a lack of professional judgment and respect for parental boundaries.If a school has concerns involving a family, there should be a transparent and appropriate process for communicating those concerns directly with the parent or guardian before taking action or involving outside parties. Acting without notice or consent is extremely concerning, particularly for an institution entrusted with children and families.Equally disappointing is the fact that, despite the seriousness of the situation, I have still not received a formal response or meaningful follow-up from the school. A lack of communication and accountability only adds to the concern.Schools should be places where families feel respected, supported, and treated with professionalism. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling that my privacy and concerns were not given the consideration they deserved. For these reasons, I would strongly encourage other families to carefully consider how this school handles confidentiality, communication, and parental concerns before making a decision.
