After having my kids going to Stuyvascent, I would not recommend this school, especially if you as parent want the best growth academic growth opportunity for your kids. The school has very limited AP classes seats and also limit AP exam students can take if they decided to take AP classes elsewhere

I think the school relies heavily on the students already being smart. The teacher I'm referencing had kids watch Jurassic park for 4 days in a row. She doesn't teach in class. Failed to proper

Posted by a parent on 5/8/2023My both son went to here, they love this school very much , not only the study experience, but have lot of fun with other intelligent kids in the school, both my kids elite college , one at Georgetown, younger son going to Princeton.

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis National Blue Ribbon Award school is a gem in NYC public education system. It is a small school with warm culture where families are warm and involved. The school uses Singapore Math curriculum, with sufficient learning support for students with their own pace. Teachers are loving and energetic. Parents receive daily messages through Apps or text for school trips, events, math exam reminder and activity photos. Principal has a real open door policy. The school have specialty classes of chess and Robotics to all the students. The music program here is out of the world, as the principal was from Special Music School. Students from elite private, G&T, charter and zoned schools have been transferring here with a waiting list. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUnfortunately after Covid this school has been is considerable decline as far as teachers and overall staff. They just don’t care about the students. My kids have been at this school since preK and now in middle school. Extremely high turnover for teachers. All the best ones left during Covid. There’s no real education. Everything is very disorganized in every subject. There’s no textbook or basic handouts for studying. They set them up for failure and then wonder why these kids are failing! The teachers have to take some accountability here as well. It feels like the kids are just being moved along through the system but they aren’t even able to do basic things that they should have already learned in previous grades. This school is very disappointing. Just because it’s in an expensive neighborhood don’t be fooled. Most parents don’t even know what’s happening.
