My daughter was here for first and second grade she had Ms. Fontaine and Mrs. Aris. They were amazing teachers. Mr.M was extremely helpful the guidance counselor also the principal and assistant principal was very understanding and really helped. This is a really great school and care about the kids. Only problem we had it had no G&T program so this is why we left. Over all the school made you feel like family. My daughter loved it here, we miss it!

My daughter has attended this school for three years. Unfortunately, bullying and harassment have been ongoing issues. There have been situations where the assistant principal had my child sign papers regarding bullying incidents without properly communicating with me as a parent, which is very concerning.In addition, some teachers in the younger grades appear to lack patience and rely heavily on yelling rather than constructive behavior management. Bullying continues to be a serious issue at this school, and communication with families needs significant improvement. The new principal barely is involved. Everything is the assistant principal. I cant wait to get my kids out of here.

We love PS 315. My son is happy in 1st grade at the school. His teachers strive to make the class engaging and interactive. I'm amazed by how much he is learning this year. He has music, art, dance, gym and even has a weekly class with the Dance Theatre of Harlem. The school community is very welcoming and warm. The PTA is growing and there are many ways to get involved. An amazing, large new playground will be finished in May - with new equipment, a track, basketball and outdoor classroom. The school Administration is really responsive to the parents.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience at Midwood Montessori. From the very beginning, we were welcomed into a warm, nurturing environment starting with a very thoughtful and detailed tour. Over the past two years, our daughter has absolutely blossomed—not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well.What makes this school so special is the deep care and intentionality of the teachers. They are incredibly loving, patient, and attentive, taking the time to truly understand each child as an individual. The program is thoughtfully tailored to meet children exactly where they are, supporting their unique pace, personality, and interests in such a sensitive and individualized way.We have watched our daughter grow in confidence, curiosity, and independence in ways that have exceeded our expectations. She comes home excited to share what she’s learned, and it’s clear how much joy she feels being part of this community.We are so grateful for the compassionate educators who have guided her so gently and thoughtfully. Their consistent communication, dedication, and genuine love for the children give us complete peace of mind. Choosing this school has been one of the best decisions we’ve made for our daughter and we always look back fondly at her time there.

I highly recommend Cortelyou Academy. My child attended both the school year program and the summer camp, and our experience was excellent. It’s a small, family-oriented school where I always felt confident that my child was safe, happy, and truly learning. The academics are rigorous, but the environment is warm and supportive. Children are challenged without being treated like they’re in the military (unlike that popular charter school). Cortelyou Academy has a great balance between high academic standards and genuine care for students.
