Posted by a community member on 4/5/2026The 8th grade ELA teacher keeps saying the r slur even when it wasn’t mentioned in the textbooks, this sets a bad example for the students encouraging them to say more slurs and be the opposite of well behaved.

Posted by a parent on 11/16/2023The staff members are rude and the teachers & staff are verbally abusive towards children. The dean acknowledges bullying but does not resolve the problems, the security guards do not provide safety to your children.

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are very happy to have our chid at 889 school they offer lots of engaging activities for kids. The PTA is very active and the teachers/ staff are very supportive, the neighborhood community is wonderful. There are many after school programs available, and some programs even offer pickup directly from the school and to their facilities, which is incredibly convenient.
