Briarcliff High School

Two of my children attended Briarcliff Manor schools throughout their pre-college years. It's big enough to qualify for a large schools' diversity of educational/sports/social opportunities, yet small enough that everyone will most often see familiar faces walking the halls. My daughter is now a sophomore at Duke and my son, Ohio State (he was accepted at Boston College, BU, Northeastern and a few more). He was a student athlete and OSU supports their athletes' exceptionally well plus he wanted a BIG SCHOOL experience. Also, OSU is so well funded that they hire (and pay) their professors so exceedingly well that the OSU quality of the education is extremely competitive. Several of the students in both of their years headed to Harvard, Princeton, MIT, Brown, Stamford...you get the idea. There is a warm, inclusive and cheerful feeling in the town and I wouldn't think twice about doing it all over again if we had the choice.

Briarcliff is a wonderful school. The environment there is encouraging and challenging, and, unlike what I've heard/seen from many other area schools, not cripplingly competitive amongst its many high achievers. Great spirit, great community, and most of all fantastic teachers. Amazing AP program sets students up not only to transition well to college settings, but to the top of the collegiate pool.
