Read what parents are saying about Robert L Taylor Elementary SchoolThis is the worst elementary school I have ever witnessed and have been in. I feel awful my children had to attend here at all. The staff do not care about the kids. They allow their assistant principal and front desk staff to yell at the children over loud speakers in the lunchroom where it echos awfully loud. I have also witnessed the assistant principal singling a child out demanding they stand up only to embarrass that poor child in front of the whole lunch class. Awfully traumatizing coming from someone who is supposed to make children feel safe and cared about. The school refused to open a bullying case for my son who got smacked on his back where an intense red handprint mark was left on his back only because he didn't use the word bullying to describe the incident. I would never recommend this school and I strongly feel this is not an acceptable environment for children.
Posted by a parent on 3/28/2024This was the first part of my review that I accidentally cut off.I come from a family highly involved in education. My father and two of my uncles and an aunt who also lived in Henderson, were career teachers of over 40 years, my father taught in Henderson (though not at Taylor) for over 60 years. One of these uncles was a career teacher at Taylor . Their 22 children all went through Taylor during the 60s and 70s. The name for much of that time was Park Village Elementary. The name was changed, but the school has become a completely different place now. Most of us have gone on to get college degrees. My sister and husband are also teachers. I guess I truly expected that any of this would matter, but alas it did not. And the result was crushing to me!This week in September 2022 I was in town for a week. I normally live in Florida. My husband and I just wrote our first book, a children's story of creativity and imagination, of Alaska and Norwegian stories, of kindness and overcoming fear and other nice character traits. A simple, happy group of stories. And education and classroom use seemed to be such an ideal environment.

Posted by a community member on 6/6/2015Robert Taylor Elementary. I have friends who have children attending or attended this school. The parents and students both liked the school and enjoyed the teaches. It's nice it's close to a church and God. Since the new one was built it has certainly improved the neighborhood. After school programs are outstanding.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’ve been to this school for a year and it absolutely sucked. Fights would go on every month or so and tons of kids would get bullied for clothing or style. I was bullied for a while there. School lunch was horrible. One time a kid got a moldy grape and they would give us stuff like potatoes that look two days old and give us ripoff cheetos. Plus, the learning style was not too great. I’d have a hard time understanding homework since the instruction was extremely unclear and I have failed science during the time I was at this school. Another thing. During dismissal, they have such a bad style of letting out students. What they do is let out the buses with the cars at the same time and the students. It would be confusing for certain people and was for me. Lastly, friendships and social interaction. It was slightly easy to make friends at this school. But you’ll only make friends if your not a “freak” or something like that. Also, the special education would always just roam around everywhere. I know they can’t control it, but do the special ed helpers really have a hard time keeping them in one room, keeping them safe, and just not having them go around to wherever they want?I definitely DO NOT recommend this school and I am so glad i’ve moved out of that school. But, If you do decide to place your kid in this school then their mental health will go down the drain.Other Review8mo ago - Gordon Mccaw Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a current parent at LMCA secondary school and as much as I really want to be proud of Lmca and be able to give them a 5 star rating, I just cannot. I don’t recommend LMCA and I wish I had explored other options before sending my children here. The higher ups that run the school don’t really care and turn a blind eye to teachers being unprofessional and not nurturing their students with love, positive guidance nor do they set great examples as they say they do according to the student handbook. Gossiping amongst the staff of LMCA students is a daily thing and the administration is very aware yet do nothing. They will spread rumors about your child and really know how to make your child feel bad about themselves. It’s really a shame because the school has lots of potential but it will never be a recommendation of mine as long as they have people like this “teaching” our children. It’s absolutely appalling….. very sad too because it’s definitely not a “Christian” environment. There is a lot of illegal activity amongst a bunch of other inappropriate behavior that goes on, yet the administration will pick and choose which ones to punish.Parent Review1y ago
