Read what parents are saying about College Of So. Nv High School SouthBefore I came to CSNHS, I went to Foothill High School, which is nextdoor to the South campus.Best decision of my life. Our campus is the smallest of the three, with a fairly tight-knit community and a large number of openly LGBT+ students. It's definitely more White than anything, but there's also been an influx of Filipino kids lately. The teachers are also mostly White, but in general, I'd say we still rank high in equity. The only real exception to my overall enjoyable experience has been the history teacher, whose in-person class I had to leave in favor of the online one because of their unexplained anger towards me. Fortunately, according to the current juniors (I'm a senior now), this year has been a lot better. I choose to believe that that was just an 'off' period in their personal life and not indicative of a pattern of behavior towards past and potential future students, and I'd be open to (and very grateful for!) the opportunity to have one more conversation with them before I graduate. As for the other campuses, I...really dislike them, honestly. I don't know about the high school teachers at the West/Charleston Campus, but the college professors and other faculty there seem to be WAY more uptight than they are at Henderson/South, presumably because West is the main campus (i.e. more attention and more pressure to be perfect) -- but I adore the community here in Henderson. It's easy to be open with most of the teachers because they talk to us less like petulant, untrustworthy children and more like young adults who simply need some guidance before we move on to a 4-year program (which most of us do -- and I know quite a few students who plan to go all the way to medical school).I've genuinely never felt more respected or been taken more seriously as a queer student, and I've encountered far less harassment and invasive questioning about my gender than at any other school I've ever been to -- or in just about any other (non-school & non-queer-specific) environment, for that matter. I've also been able to get accommodations (e.g. more time on tests) for my college classes through the Disability Resource Center, which never would've happened in any of my classes at Foothill HS.Anyway, I hope this has been helpful to someone. I was a little surprised by the serious lack of reviews on here, so I thought it would be nice to help my school get the recognition that it, in my opinion, deserves (and sorely needs).TL;DR: 5 stars.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is the worst elementary school I have ever witnessed and have been in. I feel awful my children had to attend here at all. The staff do not care about the kids. They allow their assistant principal and front desk staff to yell at the children over loud speakers in the lunchroom where it echos awfully loud. I have also witnessed the assistant principal singling a child out demanding they stand up only to embarrass that poor child in front of the whole lunch class. Awfully traumatizing coming from someone who is supposed to make children feel safe and cared about. The school refused to open a bullying case for my son who got smacked on his back where an intense red handprint mark was left on his back only because he didn't use the word bullying to describe the incident. I would never recommend this school and I strongly feel this is not an acceptable environment for children.Parent Review4w ago - Ulis Newton Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of my kids go to this school. It's a wonderful school. The principal Ms. Newman, all the teachers and everyone that works there are full of love, positivity and they love all the kids so much. You feel the love and the great energy when the teachers and principal greet all the kids in the morning, making sure they are loved, making sure they feel good about themselves. They are just one beautiful and amazing community. As a parent I'm very grateful to part of this school.Parent Review6mo ago - James E & A Rae Smalley Elementary School
