Salazar Elementary School

The school I believe does not want to listen to the parents about how the teachers conduct and integrity is lacking. The Nurse is mazing and the Kindergarten and 1st grade homeroom teachers are great. But the Principal, secretary and the PE teacher have issues that for as a parent is concerning. I may transfer my child to another school.

Switched my kids here after a bad experience with Chaparral. Absolutely the best decision. Current principal Mr. Hunter is very calm but firm. He doesn't entertain any kind of bullying or harassment and makes sure to have the full story before any discipline. Teachers often coordinate with each other, and all have genuine interest and concern for the kids. Small school, but that works for us. Special education is not ignored and getting info or contacting staff is responded to quickly.

This is my first year teaching at Aspen and I'm very excited to be a part of this cutting-edge school. Strong leadership and dedicated staff have charted a new course for this community and the professionalism is evident with all the creative and wonderful activities that are happening here. Was a student at NMSD from when I was a 2 years old to the day I graduated, so this school basically my entire educated. This school offer many opportunities and experienced that apply the real world, most importantly proud being a deaf or hard of hearing person with many successful deaf role model, mentors, teachers, coaches, and peers.
