Switched my kids here after a bad experience with Chaparral. Absolutely the best decision. Current principal Mr. Hunter is very calm but firm. He doesn't entertain any kind of bullying or harassment and makes sure to have the full story before any discipline. Teachers often coordinate with each othe

Posted by a parent on 2/6/2023I feel that with a smaller school, the students are getting more attention from their teachers. As a result, they can learn what is being taught a lot easier. I also believe that the principal and staff are outstanding and I would recommend this school.
Posted by a parent on 4/27/2016The principle and staff are exceptional. The principle, BRENDA KORTING, has a special place in her heart for the arts, so thus she brings in many arts programs at Nava. She has an open door policy. The special needs staff are all quite supportive and put the students needs first. Small neighborhood

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school I believe does not want to listen to the parents about how the teachers conduct and integrity is lacking. The Nurse is mazing and the Kindergarten and 1st grade homeroom teachers are great. But the Principal, secretary and the PE teacher have issues that for as a parent is concerning. I may transfer my child to another school.Parent Review4y ago - Salazar Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagesame as two other posts. this school admin and (most) teachers have not capacity nor resource nor courage, really, to deal with strong willed and vibrant boys. blaming and pathologizing kids rather than teaching the 'whole child' and "child centered" as they profess is their mission.one teacher behaved too frequently with exactly the low level emotional regulation they blame the very young child for, while she was supposed to be teaching him self-regulation (proper behavior)their mission sounds great but is too often not upheld. Expelling young kids, within the normal (while maybe challenging) behavior ranges, from their fear-based discombobulation harms kids, and in our case could have been trauma, if the parents had not operated in savvy ways. only 2 other reviews say the same, but i trust more have experienced the same, sadly.Parent Review1y ago
