Read what parents are saying about Cibola High SchoolTerrible experience with this school. If you child has any type of special needs or struggles in school this is not the school for you! Steer clear! I have tried to work with this school for years and they continue to disappoint. I have a child who has special needs and the school failed to inform me what options we had even though I asked the main office and the counselors office several times! Finally, after my own research, I found what we needed to do but the school really dropped the ball in helping us. My child also has health issues that affect decision making and other areas of everyday life and was suspended over something that was not done in school and also had nothing to do with the school. My child had never even so much as been in trouble in school before. Also, just as another reviewer stated a teacher told one of my children that they would only amount to being a drug dealer when they grow up! When this brought up to the school they said they would speak to this teacher and no other reprimands although this teacher has a history of speaking to the kids in this manner. However, they did want to give detention to my child for being disrespectful and talking in her class, well I do not see how you expect the children to respect a teacher to behaves in a manner. A counselor stated that it was probably the teachers way of trying to inspire the kid the way a coach would when yelling at the team! Are you kidding me?
Posted by a parent on 5/30/2017My daughter attends this school and I am impressed by staffs involvement in helping students succeed. We have been blessed by fantastic teachers who are also mentors.

Posted by a student on 9/27/2016Run - do not walk - away from this school. One of my children graduated from this school, but only because the state lifted the requirement that students were required to pass the SBA test in order to graduate...again for the third or fourth year in a row because so many regular education kids couldn't pass it. He had special needs and an IEP, which was constantly ignored. When he turned 18, he was told that his parents no longer needed to be involved in his education, and then proceeded to actively ignore parental requests for an emergency IEP. He was told he would amount to nothing more than a janitor by a teacher; all he had to do was show up to class and they would pass him; and that he could live perfectly well on minimum wage by his social counselor. I have two more children who are in this school's district: one with special needs and one without. We will be moving to another state with better schools to get away from this mess.
Posted by a community member on 9/1/2016I would have rated it good, but because of all the negative 1 star complaints I put a 5. My son is a senior with a 4.3 GPA, ran cross country, guitar all stater; my daughter is a Freshmen who is enjoying Cibola and is looking forward to her Sophomore year. The school is what you make it. Get involved!!!

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’m a parent of a mid-school student and he was starving for a smaller school community. He received smaller class sizes, teacher attentiveness which helped him grab concepts easier, and well rounded with all the extra curricular activities offered.Parent Review8mo ago - Cottonwood Montessori School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThey decided to remove my child from the school for the safety of other children there. There wasn’t any danger going on near the school or around by the way. My son was 2 years old, he didn’t deserve to be removed, the school took no precaution to keep my son safe at all times. What an entitled and fake privileged place to raise a child. It’s New Mexico god sakes, there really shouldn’t be a thing for exclusivity in education here since most children are already ranked lower in education than most other states. Sad they chose to “protect” the rich children and thrown my child out without a fair hearing. Highly do not recommend.Parent Review4mo ago - Mountain View Private Elementary
