Read what parents are saying about Palmyra High Schoolhorrible, I know high school isn’t always fun for everyone but this school ruined me. It ate away at my mental health and made me feel like I was worthless and unimportant. I was involved in many activities and never got recognized for anything I did. This school favors its athletes (especially its soccer players) and it’s high achievers. As an average student I felt as if I didn’t matter and was pushed away. I was nowhere near ready for college and the guidance counselors there are a joke. I was miserable and so depressed attending this high school. Ever since I graduated I’ve never been happier, and my attitude/mental health has improved so much.

Posted by a community member on 2/9/2019The 3 out of 10 rating for Palmyra is unrepresentative of the Palmyra experience. Palmyra offers many things that create outstanding, college-ready students. I am a 2004 graduate of Palmyra High School who attended Susquehanna University on scholarship (leadership award for the many clubs and extracurriculars I took advantage of at PHS). I went on to become a television news producer at 6abc and I currently work in marketing at Temple University. The small school atmosphere allowed me to join many clubs and even sports that I wouldn't have been a candidate for at a larger school. Additionally, I formed strong, long-lasting relationships with my teachers because of the small class setting and individual attention. In fact, my student council advisor is invited to my wedding this spring! There is certainly room for improvement at Palmyra High School but I am so energized to see parents, teachers, community members and students coming together to achieve change. It's a very exciting time to be part of the PHS community!
Posted by a community member on 1/5/2017As a graduate of Palmyra High School I can attest as living proof that this school does worlds for students to excel in life and their careers. I was very prepared for college and excelled there as well. I recently returned to live in Palmyra and I am excited for my children to have the same experience as me. They will excel, Palmyra is an excellent school system.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur child's experience at Westfield helped build a foundation of kindness, acceptance of diversity, and the sense that she can make a difference with service. She learned that any answer is a good answer, no matter if it's right or wrong - that we learn even more from our mistakes. She experienced a challenging and engaging curriculum and a comprehensive art and music program. Practicing silence and introspection during weekly all-school meetings for worship was an invaluable tool to allow her to sit with her thoughts, feel her sense of self, and see others as equals. She loved the field trips throughout the years, especially when they went on the overnight ones. The responsive tuition program allows families who might not otherwise afford Westfield to be able to experience this wonderful little school. The sense of community among the families was also very important and helped parents feel a part of their child's experience. I recommend this school wholeheartedly. It is an experience not to be missed.Parent Review3mo ago - St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic School
