Due to the pandemic my daughter was behind on her reading due to virtual learning, my daughters teacher noticed and got her extra help for the school year. By the end of the school year her reading improved tremendously. Unfortunately, the school often seems reactive rather than solution-based, and at times, communication lacks professionalism. Parents who raise questions or offer constructive feedback are too often met with silence or avoidance rather than open dialogue. I am also aware of at least one other parent who experienced a similar situation, where a meeting intended to “talk things out” became a one-sided exchange that left her feeling dismissed and blamed rather than heard.
