She has an attitude doesn't even let you finish your sentence. It's definitively a school in the hood, not very diverse compose mainly of Spanish population.School itself needs

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am writing to share my concerns regarding my son's experiences at First Avenue School My son was involved in an altercation where he was initially provoked by another student. When he defended himself, it felt as though the staff did not fairly consider his side of the story, prioritizing the other child's account instead.My son was injured during this incident when he was stabbed with a pencil. When he requested to see the nurse, he was unfortunately denied assistance by a teacher. This lack of support is concerning and raises questions about student safety.I sensed a troubling atmosphere of bias in how the situation was handled, particularly regarding the treatment of my son compared to the other student involved. It is disheartening to feel that my son's experiences were not taken seriously.The response from the principal and staff has been disappointing, and I believe there is a need for improvement in how they support and address student concerns.I hope that by sharing these experiences, First Avenue School can reflect on these issues and work towards creating a more equitable and supportive environment for all students.Thank you for your attention to these matters.Parent Review4mo ago - Dr. William H. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSuch an excellent school. From the school culture to the staff efforts and student achievement I am so happy my daughter is graduating from here this year. Homework does not equivalate to achievement. My daughter does not bring home homework in the 8th grade. But she does independent-level practice via the Lexia app to improve reading and Aleks for math help. My daughter is a straight-A student and I owe it to Ridge Street! 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI previously went to this school, and I have to say, I loved it. Everyone, from the security guards to the janitors, felt like family. I was so sad to let this school go, and I would 100% have stayed if they had a middle school and a high school course. The only complaint I ever had was with a teacher. She was a real pain to everyone, and was biased when I came to teaching. The principal, who grew to be an adult friend while I attended there, helped us sort it out, and intervened when the teacher tried to do anything she shouldn't have done. I miss carver, but if you were to send your kids here, they would love it.Other Review5y ago
