Read what parents are saying about Radix Elementary SchoolGreat school. Fantastic teachers. Teachers with passion, competent, individual approach to each student. They are friendly, patient and understanding. Children with poor knowledge of the English language have good care and a great teacher. They catch up very quickly. Perfect school, great teachers!
Posted by a parent on 10/29/2020My son has been attending Pre-school for 2 years now. He in the EIP program and we have not seen much improvement; however, he attended summer last 2015 at Oak Knoll and we saw more progress in the few weeks he attended than we did his entire school year at Radix. When meeting his teaching not much information is given at all. There is no communication with his Occupational and Speech therapist. He sees them once a week all get is a piece of paper with an item circled of what they did and a happy face written in pen. There's a comment section that I "always" blank. I asked his teacher in September at our first parent teacher meeting if we could meet with his "therapist" to get a progress report. She said no that we will only get a progress sometime in March or April. That is just ridiculous!!! Almost the end of the year to tell me whether he's progressing or not. NOT ACCEPTABLE!! So disappointed with Radix Elemenrary rating should be below a 5 for sure.
Posted by a community member on 3/11/2016I love Radix! I have 2 children in the school. One is in kindergarten and the other is in 3rd grade. The school is very well secured. The principal is really involved with the school and very easy to talk to. The teachers are easily accessible through email or face to face. There are so many activities at this school for parents to be involved in! The layout is perfect. The kindergarteners are in their own separate wing of the school and to get to their wing when your in the school you need to be buzzed in because the doors are always locked which is great. Once you walk into the main entrance you can only go to the office because the kindergarten wing and the rest of the school is locked which is fantastic for parents to know that their kids are safe.
Posted by a parent on 2/26/2014my child attends "1/2 day" kindergarten. "half day" is about 2 hours so I wouldn't really call that a half day. technically 2 1/2 hrs but the first and last 15 min of the day are about getting on and off the bus, attendance, bookbags, etc. radix is relatively secure and safe but in some ways to a fault as parents do not even know the names or emails of other parents in the class which makes it difficult socially to set up play dates and develop relationships invite classmates to parties etc. if your child is "progressing" you will only meet with the teacher face to face one brief moment for the entire school year . we are almost to april and there have not been any field trips or school plays in which our kindergarten participated. they dont have snack time or recess because the "day" is so short so the kids really miss out on the social aspect i think. it seems that if your child has special needs or is academically challenged they get more attention and one on one time. if your kid is average to smart they won't get much personal attention. my child is learning but doesnt really know the kids in the class. they need to have more activities that make parents & kids more involved
Posted by a parent on 3/25/2013not happy about the still no full day kindergarten, it was suppose to be full day when my son turned 1, he will be 5 in july. i think the school needs to think about the transition factors for these kids who do a half day kindergarten and then a full day of first grade, it is not an easy transition, i know because i have to boys in 4th grade at radix and from kindergarten to first it was tough! we pay enough school taxes that this should not even be an issue! Radix needs to get with the times and be full day kindergarten

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids have had awesome teachers. The staff is supportive, understanding, and welcoming. I have found that even with all the teachers have to face they have time to individualize and differentiate in order to meet individual students needs. My son feels safe and never complains about school.Parent Review9y ago - Holly Glen Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTerrible school. This school used the pandemic to totally lock parents out. It’s nearly impossible to be proactive about your childs academics here. The culture is bad. They let my 9 year old make decisions that I feel should be made by parents. I begged for any material or info that I can use to Tudor my child. I dint really have a good idea about what he even does there all day.Other Review4mo ago - Winslow Township School No. 3 Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is absolutely awful. It starts with the unprofessional leaders the principle and the assistant principle. They do not return phone calls or emails. In order to get a response from them regarding bullying, which they have a 0 tolerance for bullying, I had to call several times send several emails then go up to the school to finally get a response. When you ask them a question their response is always they do not know or they have a procedure in place but they do not know why they have not followed their own procedure. When I questioned the assistant principle about an incident she began to lie and change her story several times as I began to ask more questions. 'The assistants in the front office are extremely rude and unpleasant to speak to and their unprofessional behavior is allowed by their leaders. My child's teacher was extremely unprofessional as well. She had multiple facial piercings and was allowed to teach with these, and the school is more concerned with the children not wearing a shirt with a hood. She never sent home any classwork or test and when asked she took weeks to provide the information to me to have access. She called me at 9:30pm once I reached out to her to go over my child's progress and proceeded to discuss my child's clothing and physical appearance. The curriculum is also behind and not the proper grade level teaching. This school was great when my younger sister attended but it has truly gone downhill.Parent Review9mo ago - Winslow Township School No. 4 Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSt Mary School is a wonder. In a world of extremely liberal teaching, St Mary sticks to core values, education. Teaching kids right from wrong, about God's work and how to become a great and well educated teenager by the time they graduate. I wouldn't send my child to any other school. The teachers care for the students, and St Mary's is small but with a bevy of extracurricular events that wouldn't happen if it weren't for the teachers staying later and providing these services. Intramural sports for the younger kids to challenging sports programs for the older ones are available. St Mary's is like a family my family is part of! They also teach cursive!Parent Review2mo ago - South Jersey Christian Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBringing my kids into this family has been the gift of a new life for us all. The blessing is on so many different levels. The joy my children show for going to school is refreshing and the way they come home excited to share is new for them. The engagement and support with the staff has proven a help in my children’s social skills and we love the many opportunities given to be artists of music, dance, sciences, math and more with after school help offered. You won’t find this anywhere else and I strongly recommend checking this place out. My son is a true prayer warrior and loves all subjects now. And my daughter loves being able to make praise dances and art work inspired by her teachers to be an Awesome student and true example of the extraordinary community at South jersey Christian Academy. They truly put in the hard work for everyone individually. With God first all things are possible.Parent Review5mo ago - Victory Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended and graduated from this school, I would liken it to a totalitarian regime reminiscent of North Korea. After I graduated, I personally had an apology from the principal for what he was forced to discipline the children. My parents have since apologized for the ultra strict, micro managing staff with a we are right and every other faith is wrong attitude. Education was always second and upon entering college I was grossly underprepared in math and English. Years later I hear why the school has closed and the allegations made against the administrators and I am not surprised. Investigate it for yourself. Start with the prosecutors office according to rumors.Parent Review9y ago
