Read what parents are saying about Bergen AcademiesThe best stem/steam school in NY/NY area for sure. A lot of work and a lot of material. Hard tests and hard grading. School at elite college level material. Any college is a cake walk after this school.
Posted by a parent on 3/2/2022By far the best school in NY/NJ.

Posted by a community member on 10/2/2019I am so incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to attend this amazing school full of academic and extracurricular opportunities. My peers are not only talented, but also friendly and of strong character. What's more, you can leave your phone or laptop in the hallways or somewhere else in the school for hours and no one will ever take it!
Posted by a student on 9/14/2018I can only speak for the science/engineering academy, but overall the courses were thoroughly challenging and the opportunities for research were endless. You can make your experience here as fulfilling as you want to, limited only by how many hours are in a day and how motivated you are. One thing to note is that many of the legendary teachers at the school have either passed away or have been expelled for other reasons.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI can see the difference in this school. The teachers are very professional. Through my child, I see their passion in teaching the students. The best thing is that teachers will offer extra help if students are struggling with a subject. Also their is a homework club after school, where the students can do their homework. My child loves this school.Other Review2y ago - Cherry Hill Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere are discrimination in this school. There are teachers give unfair rating or treat differently. Also there's not enough support for kids who got bullied. My kid and I couldn't get any help when we got in trouble. They don't even make time to talk each other with parents. The quality of some teachers are not so good. once we got teacher who's absence so many days and our class was very behind.Other Review7y ago - Nellie K. Parker Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNellie K was definitely not what I expected. The principle was never available to speak, she would always have a reason why she wasn’t available. The teacher my son had was everything except an educator (prefer not to share name) She was definitely there to criticize the kids instead of helping them. It is very sad as a parent to come across a school like this, since kids are spending majority of their time in there schools. Thankfully my son was only there for one year. All I know is my son get very emotional every time we bring up this school and teacher that’s how horrible our experience was.Parent Review1y ago - Fairmount Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are thrilled with our children's experience at Ben Porat Yosef! They are excited to go to school each day and have progressed year to year! They have the most amazing teachers and staff who not only clearly love their job but are extremely attuned to each child's social-emotional needs. The school spirit cant be beat and my kids say it feels like a second home!Parent Review1y ago - Grace Lutheran School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is now in Englewood, with the same administration. For our family, it has been a lousy experience. Students do not learn adequate math or science because they spend enormous amounts of time in French language. They need to focus on topics that will help students succeed in American Middle schools. There are not enough extra-curriculars and after school programs. The students who try to get into competitive private schools for 6th grade entry do not get into their dream schools. I didn’t wait around to find out! We saw the writing on the wall and left in second grade. Now my child is in a competitive K-12 located in the city. But it took a LOT of work to prepare for the ISEE. Let this be a lesson to you: DO NOT PAY for a sub-par education.Parent Review3mo ago
