Read what parents are saying about Horace Mann No. 6 Elementary SchoolI think Horace Mannn is an absolutely amazing school. I really think the rating great schools is giving is giving Horace Mann justice. There is soo much more to this school that meets the eye. I am a student in Horace Mann. This school is on top of bullying. There is barely any. And if there is the Guidance Counselor is on the case. The principle is absolute Wonderfull. She considers each student as their own person. The teachers are wonder full. Their is none treating someone unfairly except one 7th grade teacher. I will not name. But she isn't very professional and takes part in student gossip. I definitely wish I complained against her but its way to late now. Other than that. The teachers in this school try to get the best out of you without rigging the system like some of my other schools I have been into. I love this school and am so happy to be a tiger. This in my opinion is the best school in Bayonne if you don't count the G&T programs at Oresko.
Posted by a student on 8/29/2019Totally agree with previous review. The school allows bullying. This is the second year in a row. Last year, my daughter complains about a boy tell her "go back to your country" even she is US citizen. She told to the teacher this issue and then the same boy starts called her "Dorita". This second year, third day and the boy with a group call her "mexican". I am tired of this, I will talk with the principal, but my daughter beg me to don't do it, because the bullying could be worst. At this point, My wife and me are thinking the possibility to move to another town or change the school if the problem continues.
Posted by a parent on 9/13/2017Horace Mann is a great school. Safety is a priority. I love the fact that no bullying is tolerated. Any issues any parent has and reports it, I can assure that it will be taken care of. Teachers do care about the students and they make sure kids do learn about responsibility, homework, etc. Principal is great, Staff is friendly..
Posted by a parent on 6/26/2014My School "Horace Mann Elementary School" Is a great school.I don't have a clue to why this school wouldn't be rated 5/5*. I go to this school matter a fact and it's been GREAT!!! Through out my life I wanted a school that can keep with my pace of ability. But when my mom & dad singed me up. I wondered "Does this school have what i need?" Then as the years went by,I got older and smarter. In conclusion I love Horace Mann Elementary School. -Sincerely Student Justin Sales
Posted by a community member on 8/28/2013Absolutely a horrible school! The principal has no idea what she is doing! This school allows bullying in every shape and form! If you report the bullying the staff will outcast your child in every way possible! The staff protects themselves and does not protect your child! This school is a disgrace to the Bayonne school sytem. Dont bother reporting issues to the Board of Education, they all stick together in a nut shell! You will just make things worst for your child. Although my child had all high test scores in the 90's along with always completed HW, her report card showed 70's. WHY? I will tell you why, because I reported them numerous times to the board of ed.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am so torn on this school, the teaching staff is great, but they keep leaving the school, being made to leave to other schools, or changing from grade to grade constantly. There is no stability for the kids and I'm sure the teachers do not feel great about it either. I grew up in bayonne and went to several schools here and never had issues at any of the schools I went to, but now, being a family member, hearing/seeing what the administration is doing to the teachers and, by extension, the students is really discouraging. They're going to lose all their good teachers if they don't fix this soon.Other Review7mo ago - Lincoln No. 5 Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere's nothing wrong with the staff or students it's the school. I had my laptop fixed twice, the first time it was my fault I broke the screen but the one they gave me back was not my laptop. They just swap the broken ones out for another broken one. I was hoping for a fixed one, not one in poor condition. The keys are sticky and there's some weird stuff in between the keys that just grosses me out. I'm using it to type this right now, I have to push really hard just to type a letter. The only reason why there's two stars instead of one is because of the amazing people that I met here. The school's stingy ways are making us pay $20 just for key replacements or $80 for a screen replacement.Student Review1y ago - Alexander D. Sullivan No. 30 Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe staff at the front door are very rude. My mom was going to take my brother because they made him a school transfer, and they told her that they couldn't attend her that she has to go on another day. Like they didn’t care.Other Review2mo ago
