Jackson Elementary School

My experience at this school was neither good or bad. I have met a lot of good people here including teachers. The school will get you through middle school and will have a good effect on you. The teachers seemed helpful and caring about each other and hopefully it stays that way.Now teachers in this school don't really change anything about a student's behavior, let's say they won't do anything about it. Another topic does the school helps students with learning differences? Yes they do and they are very good at doing that I was a former student here and students had different classes in math depending on their grade (This is only in 5th grade). I think they are still doing it now. Now with bullying, they don't really do anything about bullying. Bullying is one of the dangers of every school but this school doesn't do anything about it, from what I know thy don't really care about it.

I don’t understand why this particular school has 5 stars my experience with Liberty Elementary is extremely poor the lack of communication and the lack of concern they have for children who need help the most and the lack of interest to involve themselves in situations when a child is behind due to missing school is disappointing and disturbing.

This school is absolutely disgusting from the principal down to the teachers. I'm a foster parent whose children attend field club and I can't even begin to discuss all of the situations this school has caused for me and my foster kids. For instance one of my fosters kids was I'll and due to my own work schedule I couldn't come to get them as fast as the School wanted me to and despite talking to the nurse and explaining my situation and the time I would be able to come she called several times and even had the nerves to chastise me when I arrived. Even after all of that the School decided to inform the caseworker and make me out to be the bad guy. This school is unprofessional, and the principal, and assistant principal are complete idiots who need to be fired. I completely understand the lady who left the review about the protection order issue ad a similar also happened with one of my foster children and the school reporting all of the information back to the caseworker even though the information was unnecessarily given.

My two daughters attend this school--both are very different in personality and aptitude. Duchesne has allowed both girls to flourish while challenging each to grow into young women who can think and express herself well. Very thankful for this school!

Simply a wonderful school. The staff, teachers, and principal really care. The students love going to school everyday because it's fun and challenging. It has a great community feel and high expectations.

This school no longer has foreign language or a religion teacher for middle school students. The class sizes are getting smaller because of lower enrollment which means 8th grade class is just one class now (22ish kids). Young newer good teachers often switch to public school due to better salaries and better benefits while the school has focused on hiring older who were once retired teachers. The students are not in school as often in comparison to public schools, the school has a lot of days off, and the students spend a lot of time in the church. The principal does not follow the handbook or policies of the school. The Pastor does not address any concerns about the Principal and the Catholic Schools Superintendent allows each school to operate independently with no oversight. There is limited money to put in academics and clubs, rather the parish focuses on restoring the church plaza. Limited resources and opportunities for children. Academic and Star score tests are not shared with parents or at board meetings. Do your homework with other schools around the area and you’ll find a big difference in academics, leadership and community.
