Read what parents are saying about Grace Abbott Elementary SchoolI neve went to this school but its not as good as aldrich.
Posted by a parent on 10/10/2022My daughter attends Abbott and I have nothing but praise for the staff of Grace Abbott. There are many excellent opportunities for students to be involved in activities - from choir, book club, spanish club, to stock market club. SWAMP time is a great community building activity that focuses on good traits to build strong citizens. Dr. Chaussee has great communication with parents and does what is fair and best for the students. He works hard to know the children and I see him working in the lunch room at recess when I have volunteered. I don't believe it's very common for other administrators to do these jobs. There is a new volunteer program just for dads called Watch dogs that my husband enjoyed doing and my daughter loved having dad in school for a change. The teachers are interested in and care about my child. I appreciate how they send great emails to help remind us of the activities going on in school. I'm so thrilled about the choosing Grace Abbott for my child's education.
Posted by a parent on 2/20/2015Bullying was and is a huge problem at Grace Abbott. Nothing is done by the teachers and they are not interested in addressing the problem.
Posted by a community member on 1/11/2015This is a wonderful school, with an excellent balance in fostering not only your child's academic development, but also their personal character. The principal is very personable, involved, has a good sense of humor, and also has a great knack for dealing with kids when they are having behavior problems. He's also very efficient at keeping a focus on doing what can be done to improve learning, and is open-minded. The teachers are really great, and work hard to help their students achieve as much as they can. We also love that the environment of Abbott is warm, friendly, and fosters character-building, which many schools ignore these days. We're so glad to be at a school that is wonderful, without feeling too intense or stressful for the kids. We also love Swamp Time, where kids of different grade levels meet together. It creates an environment where older kids are kind to younger ones, and students feel a stronger sense of connectedness. Abbott truly is a rarity of a school!
Posted by a parent on 11/2/2014We had a couple kids go to Grace Abbott. One went through every grade and one other went K-2. We had a GREAT experience with the school. As with all schools our kids had a better connection with some teachers over others but that is to be expected. The office staff was great! If you live in the district you will be happy with the results. Great families, great kids, great location. Glad to have been part of Grace Abbott before we moved. We now live in Florida and realize that Millard schools aren't everywhere and you have to dig a bit to get the same quality down here.

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a parent and head chef/ kitchen manager at Manchester. Very proud of this school. Very clean and always smells great. Very interactive teachers who get down to the kids level. In the kitchen we batch cook so every grade has fresh LUNCH. We also have a fantastic BREAKFAST $1.50 and kids get 3 of the 5 food groups. Guaranteed! They can have all 5 if they wish. Parents and Teachers are welcome, in fact we have many who already eat with us. Proud supporter of Fuel up Play 60 and Future Chef programs. You can cook!Parent Review6y ago - Aldrich Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis administration at the school (front office) is poorly ran. This woman is not a natural born leader. She barks orders, instead of leads. The principal is a nightmare to work for as she is doesn't understand a community of teachers and grace when it comes to her employees. As far as how she handles students, I've seen 1st hand the unknowing, blatant, unaware racism she isn't aware she shows to specific students. This woman is data driven crazy woman who looks at students and staff as just numbers and never gets to really know her staff. However, Millard will not do anything because this woman is on her way out anyway (thank the lord). Be wary when sending your kid or applying to this school.Other Review2y ago - Picotte Elementary School
