Discovery Elementary School

Ben Franklin is a great school. This is my daughters 2nd year at the school. The students are challenged and the extra help is there if the student needs it.

My child has been bullied for the past two years. Discriminated against by peers. The teachers do NOTHING. When the counselor got involved, they all tried to make my child be FRIENDS with their bully WHILE being actively bullied by them. They refused my diagnosed child access to federally mandated supports for 8 months, and only followed through when I threatened a lawsuit.

Viking is fabulous. Our son attended K and now first here. The teachers have all been great and its very much a community school. Everyone knows my son's name - the principal, lunch ladies, paras, librarians, secretary. When an issue came up with a fellow student, everyone participated in finding a solution - his teacher & the principal. I cannot say enough about the fact that they seem to care about each and every child in the building . Unfortunately, we are moving at the end of this year. I only hope that we can find a place as good where we go next.

The school is great and the teachers are wonderfu! My daughter as well as my niece's and nephew attend Century.
