Read what parents are saying about North Forest Pines ElementaryI am thoroughly unimpressed with this school. Teachers are just going through the motions and not looking out for the best interests of their students.
Posted by a parent on 1/26/2023My children started July 2021 and are thriving. Our older child skipped Kindergarten thanks to COVID and neither of our children attend pre-school or anything similar. They quickly caught up thanks to their hard work combined with amazing teachers and staff. The Administration is top-notch. The communication is stellar. The atmosphere daily throughout the school is one of genuine care and positivity. Every staff member is generous with their time. I've volunteered as much as I could so that I could see what my children experience daily and have joined them for lunch weekly (since that perk reopened). We are grateful that we are apart of NFP. Schoo started shortly after a big cross country move, a lot of change for our kids - and yet - they feel they totally belong. Our younger child had separation issues thanks to COVID having us on such a long lock down mixed with the fact we lived remote from family and friends - our children had never left our side. The principal (Ms. Light) noticed it and was immediate to reach out asking if we would like the counselor to meet with him regularly and to have the psychologist recommend a book. Ms. Light (principal) kept in touch and celebrated his wins along the way.
Posted by a parent on 4/25/2022We have only been at this school for 5 months and will be withdrawing tomorrow to provide the education that my child needs. We have been lied to by the school and teacher and the principal has ignored my request for documentation. I have informed the superintendent about this. The teacher has also incorrectly graded his assignments, which I have shared with other parents in the area. This was with a teacher who had over 10 years of experience too. Pay attention to their falling test scores.
Posted by a parent on 1/23/2020My daughter has been in the special education preschool class here. Her teacher has been amazing and same for her teacher's aids. They work very hard to reach the iep goals and my daughter has progressed in so many ways. Can't say much about the rest of the school, and we've never had a problem so I don't know about conflict resolution at this school. The "big kids" involved in special education seem to be happy. Hope this helps.
Posted by a parent on 2/27/2018NFP has been GREAT for my 3 Kids! We have had some different principals throughout their time there, all with different styles, i see people have complained about former principals but I feel very differently and that they have benefited fromEach one. The assistant principal has been the same since we started there 5 years ago and she is phenomenal. Professional and really takes the time to know the parents as well as the children. Mrs. Bell, new principal for 2018 is very present and has done a great job right Out the gate. The teachers are top, patient , love Out kidss..and we could not be happier with all three kids going there! We are Track 4 and have delt with almost all the track 4 teachers, being that we have twins and they are in separate classes each year so we have had pretty much every track 4 teacher.. all great at what they do.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur experience with this school has been horrible! My daughter has been going to this school since preschool up till third grade. I had to remove my daughter from the school after so many poor communication problems with 3 of the teachers and the head principal who seem to only care about her image as the principal rather than the concerns of the students and parents. Based on the horrible advice and several different conversations about my daughter’s tragic experiences I’ve had with the main principal. I realize I was getting nowhere in hopes of A change. My daughter would come home almost every day complaining about how she was being bullied and treated unfairly at that school.Parent Review2mo ago - Heritage Elementary

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is our first year at this school. My son has thoroughly enjoyed his kindergarten experience. He has been getting good grades all year, especially in reading. He started the school year off knowing how to read and ended the school year reading chapter books proficiently. His spelling is great. He started the school year not knowing how to hold a pencil properly and now knows how to hold it and his writing is great. He loves his teacher and teachers assistant. He has made many friends. He is a picky eater but enjoys the lunch food. He really loves the different specials that they have. Stem is one of his favorites. PE is another favorite because they do a lot of different fun activities. His teacher does a wonderful job at communicating with us. He uses an app to talk to families and we’ve never had any issues with that. Overall I think my son really loves his school, I love his school and I feel proud to say my son goes to Wakefield Elementary.Parent Review11mo ago - Forest Pines Elementary

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis was our first year at Forest pines drive elementary. And I can honestly say my daughter has flourished. Everyone from the front office, to her teacher, support staff and even the custodians genuinely care about these children and engage with the parents. I highly recommend if you live in this area that you would be blessed with being able to be zoned for the school.Parent Review11mo ago - Casa Esperanza Montessori

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has been a part of CASA since his kindergarten days, and he is currently in the third grade. I made the choice to enroll him in this school because he is an incredibly high-energy child, and I was drawn to the idea of him being able to progress through his schoolwork at his own pace, rather than everyone adhering to a fixed lesson plan.My son faced some challenges in reading, particularly during his second-grade year. However, his teacher was incredibly proactive in addressing this. Before I even had a chance to express my concerns, she had already placed him in an additional reading group and provided one-on-one support to help him catch up to grade level.Every day, my son comes home excitedly recounting his favorite moments from school, often highlighting the "great lesson" he had that day, like the one about volcanoes. His enthusiasm for learning is truly nurtured at CASA, and he genuinely loves attending this school. One aspect of CASA that I deeply appreciate is that the teachers do not micromanage the students. Instead, they empower them to be self-sufficient and take responsibility for their own work. This approach is invaluable in teaching our children important life skills and values. In my opinion, CASA is providing a valuable service by instilling these essential morals and values in today's youth. I am grateful for the positive impact it has had on my son's education and personal development.Parent Review7mo ago - St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe leadership and teachers at St Catherine’s school are dedicated to bringing their students closer to Christ. The school provides a positive Catholic environment that encourages morality and love of the faith. The parents are heavily involved and supportive of the school and the school has grown over the past few years due to the amazing job the principal has done. She literally knows every student (270 and growing) by name and makes each of them feel special and important. As in any school there are a handful of parents that would rather not follow the guidelines/handbook and try to stir up issues when they disagree. However the principal calmly and fairly addresses each issue with patience, kindness, and the best interests of the students and families in mind.A fantastic Catholic education!Parent Review11mo ago - Rejoice Community School of Wake Forest

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSpecial educationThales Academy discriminates against families and children with ADHD. In our experience there has been judgement, discrimination and lack of sympathy/empathy. They have a red point green point system. Students with ADHD do not always “hear” when a teacher asks for something to be done. I wish teachers and leadership underwent training on how to support children to succeed with ADHD. From what we have witnessed with that, I can only imagine families with children who have learning disabilities must feel.Parent Review3mo ago
