Morehead Elementary At Camp Glenn

MCPS has been awesome so far! It's my little girls first year at the school and we were so blessed to have gotten the teachers she has! Mrs.Hassler and Mrs.Johner are both amazing and are some of the very best in my opinion! I don't think she could have gotten a better kindergarten teacher or teacher assistant! They are caring, passionate about actually teaching and making sure my little one is above where she needs to be!! She loves going to school and loves learning! The staff there at MCPS are amazing as well! Special classes such as art, music, pe, etc. have pretty awesome teachers as well!! Ms. Carol at the front is a super sweet and beautiful hearted person and she shows love to the kids every day!! My sweet girl loves her!! So far, I am very pleased and content with my little girl being there! She had made huge progress just in the first half of the year and I can't wait to see what all she is capable of the second half!! I Def recommend this school!

My family had a very sad and regrettable experience with this school the second year that my son went here. During pre-school, it was wonderful. Turns out it was due to the teacher, but she has left and started her own school and taken that magic with her. My son was starting his first day of first grade and after an initial report from the teacher of having a great day, they sent the police to our house that evening to say that he wasn’t welcome to come back. I don’t think anything that an innocent six year old boy could do would warrant no immediate action from the administration, only to decide to traumatize the child and send the police to his home six hours later. The principal was unsympathetic to our situation and unwilling to work anything out with us or discuss anything. Come to find out, he was a liability against their “reputation” based on certain circumstances regarding his father that is obviously well beyond my child’s control. What it boils down to, is that they do not tolerate anything less than a squeaky clean cookie cutter home life and the product of it. I sent my boy here because I thought this school would be a nurturing environment, instead it has become a mark on his childhood and has left him traumatized even further. Would never, ever recommend anyone to send their children here.
