Not happy that my tax dollars pay these people. I look over the reviews from before 2010, and believe the school has been having negative reviews removed for the past few years. This school faculty is barely adequate to teach the children at the state average, let alone develop high performing citizens. This is an unfortunate lesson that I would have preferred to know before I moved to the area, but the recent data on this school seems to be unavailable. I would not have my children attend this school if I had known how below par the faculty really is. The PTO only recently returned, and I felt that every time we visited the school that they really didn't want parents involved. During school events (open house, parent-teacher conferences, etc), it is clear that the teachers don't want to discuss anything with the parents and there is an air of "everything is great"... but, once grades come out, it quickly becomes clear they were not telling the truth at all. One parent-teacher conference there was a teacher that had something to the effect of "Ms. So-and-so is the boss and you will do whatever she says" on the dry-erase board, and she quickly erased it during the conference. When teachers avoid parents, or hide things from parents, it is clear that there is something not right with the quality, structure, management, or supervision of the school faculty.

Sandridge has been a fantastic school for our twin boys. They attended fourth and fifth grade there, and we were very pleased both years. The teachers and staff are all very accessible, helpful and friendly. The teachers were all challenging and very involved. It was not uncommon to get notes and phone calls from the teachers to discuss issues or offer praise. Teachers were not only concerned with education, but also with moral and physical development and maturation of the boys. We had to drive the boys to school each day since we lived out of district, but it was well worth it. Wish they could attend 6th grade there too!
