3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHonestly one of the worst schools! Principal Peeples needs to go, I've heard from many MANY teachers about her love for playing favorites and how she bullies her own employees. Why doesn't she get moved? Oh guess what? She used to work in HR and so her buddies there don't do a thing about her turn over rate. Think about it. This school has some of the highest turn over rate and the biggest complaint I've heard is leadership. Wake up and smell the roses y'all! My kid has gotten hit and punched and shoved all year long and they are getting more chance to come back and continue to traumatize my kid! Why do we allow the few to ruin it for the bunch? Do better!!!!!!Parent Review7mo ago - James Y Joyner Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCanterbury School is the perfect school for my family. It is nurturing and challenging, simultaneously. It has been amazing to watch my child grow from shy and anxious to confident and assured. Canterbury offers children safe opportunities to try new things and grow in ways that will support them their whole life long.Parent Review3y ago - St. Pius X Catholic School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe main focus at St. Pius is on the Catholic religion and not academics. If your child is not Catholic they cannot read from the Bible during Mass or participate in communion. My child was behind in math. Most students from St. Pius need to have a math tutor if they go on to attend a public middle school or high school. They are very focuses on handwriting. There are a lot of crafts and preschool like activities that come home in the take-home folders. However, this is not a lot of academic evidence of what is being done in the classroom. There is a lot of hands-on learning and the younger children receive two recesses a day. However, the strict dress code at St. Pius is unbelievable-belts, button shirts for mass, no Comet hoodies, etc. The students are also strongly discouraged from going to the bathroom during Mass (which is usually an hour). The learning support at St. Pius is not adequate. The learning support teachers will place students on an IEP on a computer program for math or reading for fifteen minutes! That is not an effective form of learning intervention. I would not send a child here who has a learning disability such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, Autism, etc.Parent Review1y ago - Greensboro Day School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have a 6th and 2nd grader and have been there since the 2020/2021 school year. In the midst of the pandemic this was one of a few schools that stayed open. The educational opportunities for my sons have been phenomenal! My kids feel safe there and have experienced no bullying, and believe me I question them. My oldest son has been exposed to Mandarin, Latin and Spanish. We transferred from an under resourced rural school district, and I was really worried that it might be too hard for them, but they have risen to the challenges and the teachers have been there every step to help them. I especially like the social emotional content, each child has a counselor that they feel comfortable approaching.Parent Review2y ago - Ronald E. Mcnair Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience at this school so far has been the horrible I count the days until this school year ends and pray I can find a better school for kindergarten. The school has communication issues and i am not sure if that's because Pre-K is not apart of the school but in the school but in general i have had poor communication with the teacher as well as with the school handling situations gone wrong in the classroom.Parent Review4y ago
