Brightwood Elementary School

the teachers, specially the 5th grade teachers they are working very hard with the students to get good grade _Reading , math , science etc. you get update for the week on what is going on.teacher call you left you voice mail what else you want to get your child success, sometimes kids might learn different but they"re still working hard with them to get them where they should be. I don't know I love the staff and the Principal . This year is my son last year i wish their is a middle school.

I pick my son up from school every day, and I see that he is always unhappy to leave. I understand that he needs time to adjust to the transition, and I’m determined to help him feel more positive about going home.

The teachers at HFHN are nice, but one or two aren't so nice. The students are expected to do everything as they say and to not question the teachers or defend themselves when unjustly treated because it would be considered back talking. Also boys and girls are not allowed to hug? I was not aware that when the opposite gender hug it is sexualized when they are just children. They over-sexualize almost everything, girls wearing skinny jeans because it will "distract the boys" they are not even allowed to paint their nails! They say to follow the dress code, but then I notice teachers with brightly painted nails, and more then 2 bracelts on each hands. If you are trying to teach the children to follow the dress code, might as well tell the teachers to also follow it because we wouldn't want to distract the students correct?

My experience at this school so far has been the horrible I count the days until this school year ends and pray I can find a better school for kindergarten. The school has communication issues and i am not sure if that's because Pre-K is not apart of the school but in the school but in general i have had poor communication with the teacher as well as with the school handling situations gone wrong in the classroom.
