The front office enrollment was extremely slack with enrolling my son ,acting like they were unable get his proper school records transferred and made all kind of excuses. I asked to have a conference with all his core class teachers upon finding out he was not being accommodated in his learning pan

Posted by a parent on 9/7/2021the school is great! they do alot of activities and give prizes to help stop the use of drugs and help stop bullying . there really isnt alot of drama and fights or bullying going on in albemarle! the teachers really care about the kids and want what is best for them

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe admin at this school is awful. The principal, Angela Grant, is one of the poorest leaders I have ever worked for. There is no consistency with expectations of teachers or students and zero support to implement the decisions she makes on a whim. She is extremely out of touch with what’s happening in our classrooms. She is unable to handle being questioned about any of the decisions she makes and never accepts responsibility for anything. There is a very high turn over rate of teachers at this school and it is solely because of the “leadership”. They have failed teachers and students every step of the way. While the admin seems to have good intentions, they have no idea how to lead. The students and teachers are fantastic and deserve so much more than they have been receiving at this school. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is very racist. A boy who has a senior in high school called another senior who happens to be African-American the N-word hard R. He has only been suspended and he has not been expelled for such a racist harsh word. And the school claims that they are godly but yet they don’t uphold godly standards. Another incident happened in 2024 where my family member who happened to be black was punched by a little boy. When the black little boy punched him back, he got in trouble and no questions were asked to the white boy who punched him first.
