The teachers and staff at Hickory Grove Elementary has been instrumental in my children's academic success. They have been very supportive and creative when it comes to helping my autistic son learn the material. My husband and I are thankful for all their hard work and dedication to improving the lives of our children.

My child has been at hickory grove for two years I absolutely love the support. From the teachers to the office the safety and monitoring they have for the children is remarkable. It is much appreciated I must say to see the interaction with children and acknowledgment with them.

My daughter is in EC pre-k class at Hickory Grove Elementary. Ms. Switzer is amazing and we are so blessed to have had her as our daughter teacher for 2 years along with Ms. Reynolds, Mr. Guillen and Ms. Bartley. They are so loving and care about all the students. They have made a huge impact in my child’s life. She loves school and even wants to go on the weekends. It has been a blessing to send my daughter to school who is non-verbal and know that she is in the best care and I have no worries. Absolutely love them!!

My daughter is currently in the CMS EC Early School at Hickory Grove Elementary and in one of the best teachers I have encountered class. Ms. Switzer and her team, Ms. Reynolds and Mr. Gillen, are a blessing that my family prayed for. Prior to Attending HGES my daughter was at a daycare where she had to have a behavior specialist with her daily 1-on-1 because she was surrounded by educators that did not have the skill set needed to ensure learning was assessable for ALL students. When we would pull up to the daycare, my daughter would have meltdowns and cry as soon as we pulled in the parking lot. There was always an uneasy feeling leaving my nonverbal student in the hands of individualizes who lacked the capacity to support anything outside of normal. Fast ward to Ms. Switzer and her team, when I pull up at HGES my daughter is excited to get out the car and start her day. Most times, I barely get a kiss or a hug goodbye. I can constantly see evidence of changes made to my daughter's instruction based on her needs and academic level when I'm there in person and in the highly anticipated detailed weekly photos and communication. There are monthly parent trainings that provide me, an elementary teacher leader of 15 years, information needed to support my daughter seamlessly at home with the skills she is working on at school. I have never questioned what is happening in my daughter's class because, of the communication structures put in place. Thanks to Ms. Switzer and team my daughter is talking more, taking turns (major accomplishment) and really for her next life goal, the general education classroom next year. It is a hard job raising little humans but even harder raising one on the spectrum. As a parent dropping your babies is easier when I know she is loved, support, and WANTED in a space that she spends majority of her day. When I pick up my child, Ms. Switzer always tells her she loves her, and I know she means it. Being a teacher is not an easy job. Being a teacher of 20+ special needs 3-year-old with superpowers AND their parents takes a special calling from GOD. So, thank you Ms. Allison Switzer and everyone else at HGES for all that you do for my baby and everyone else's baby.

My daughter has been in pre-k for two years, her teacher Ms. Switzer is the best she is loving she strives to help each of her students so do Ms. Reynold and Mr.Guillen. Those who receive children and get them out of the cars are also very loving. I am very happy with this school.
