My kid went here for 2 years and what a mistake it was. He never wanted to talk about school and didn’t seem learn a whole lot. Nice teachers and admins but it didn’t connect with my kid. 1.5 months in a new school and he’s loving it, started speaking Spanish and his reading and math are on point now. And he doesn’t stop talking about all the things they learn.

I cannot say enough wonderful things Paw Creek Elementary School. From the very beginning, we have been impressed with the quality of learning and teaching that takes place each day. The teachers go above and beyond to make sure lessons are engaging, challenging, and tailored to each child’s needs, which has helped my son grow both academically and personally.One of the things I appreciate most is the school’s commitment to social-emotional support. The staff truly understands that children thrive when they feel seen, heard, encouraged, and cared for, and they put just as much emphasis on character development and emotional well-being as they do on academics.The school also does a fantastic job with family engagement. Parents are kept well-informed and encouraged to take part in activities, events, and decision-making. It truly feels like a partnership between home and school, and that connection makes a world of difference for the students.Another area where the school shines is safety. I feel confident every day sending my son, knowing that the staff prioritizes student safety and has strong measures in place to ensure a secure, welcoming environment.Overall, Paw Creek has created a nurturing, challenging, and supportive community where children can learn, grow, and feel safe. I have been impressed with the school and student culture improvements/changes that have been made and the way, as a parent, I can relate to as well as understand the complexity of public education in my community. It takes a village is becoming a part of what has made this school exceptional since 2008, making me internally wonder what this community had before River Oaks Academy was built and what will public education look like as the nearby police station finishes construction and traffic increases and population growth along with residential developments and lesser parks/green space evolves.

The teacher turnover for 2022-2023 was high. Extracurriculars were not effective - true STEM did not occur for lower level and clubs were inconsistent. Extra support for advance learners did not occur for lower level as there was not enough staff support. The main positives are the social activities in dances, showcases, sports, and trips. If social engagement is important then this school is high on those activities. Safety awareness is high however cleanliness of classrooms/building and alerts on spread of pink eye and covid is not high priority to communicate to families.
