Sacred Heart School

I have had two children attend GES and cannot day enough good things about the school. My oldest son had an IEP while he attended and the assistance he received was amazing. Not just from his SPED teacher but everyone he dealt with at school. They were always trying and suggesting new ways to help him deal with whatever issues arose. My other child has had nothing but sweet, caring teachers who he loves. I enjoyed all the extra family oriented activities and opportunities to involve parents with their child’s education. Really great school, in my opinion.

Elementary school is okay although the curriculum and some methods are outdated, but high school is horrible. The curriculum is traditional and not on the latest research of best practices. Some teachers are willing to help your child, but other teachers and administration are not. If you question anything, you are labeled as the bad guy. If students or an entire class do poorly, they are labeled as not paying attention or doing what they need. Internal reflection never happens as a whole. If you are looking for a school that is "there way or no way," then this school is for you. Sports---good luck--your child's experience will depend on which sport and who you know or what you can contribute as a parent. Kids are teased and assaulted in locker rooms and school/sport/ trips and administration does not care. Spend your dollars elsewhere-where teachers and administration are always willing to have internal reflection to determine what can be done to help EVERY student succeed.

I just can't say enough good things about this school. It was our family's life saver, when my children were going to a private school just down the street, and being treated like they were trouble makers every day. This school doesn't use a "whoopin", it uses effective communication, which is all children need. My children LOVE school, they've learned so much, and I have never been happier.

My kids went here last year, they now go to Horn Lake and let me tell you we miss it! The school is nice, clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. The teachers are so enthusiastic and caring. I really wish we hadn't switched!
